Widescreen Monitor Offers Extra Viewing Space for HD Video, Gaming, and Work Apps
Widescreen displays such as this one have become more popular as people discover the benefits of the extra horizontal space for application palettes, viewing documents side by side, and for a more cinematic experience when watching movies or playing video games. This is a 16:10 widescreen display capable of displaying high-definition video, but it is a bit taller than the 16:09 aspect ratio found on most HDTVs, so some letterboxing will be necessary to fill the space above and below the video window.
DVI interface gives you a cleaner picture than older analog connections
This display uses DVI (Digital Video Interface) to connect to a computer. DVI uses a digital signal and delivers a higher quality picture than an analog VGA connection. Older computer may not offer DVI, but almost all computers purchased in the last few years should. Also, be sure to check if the display ships with a DVI cable.
VGA Interface Will Connect to Nearly All Computers and Displays, But At the Cost of Some Clarity
This display has VGA connectivity. Also known as RGB, this analog connector represents the lowest common denominator of display ports. VGA is found on most displays and most computers, ensuring wide compatibility. Computers create a digital video signal, so when you use a VGA connection, the digital video from your computer is converted into analog to go out across the VGA cable, and then re-digitized for use on the display. This can result in image quality that’s not as good-looking as that from a DVI or HDMI connection. Many displays include VGA and a digital connector such as DVI.
HDCP Compliance is Crucial If You're Planning to Watch Blu-ray or Other HD Content
This display supports HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection), an Intel developed technology meant to protect high definition digital content from being intercepted during transmission. If you don't plan on watching Blu-ray discs or HDTV, then HDCP is probably not important to you. If you think you might want to watch HD content, look for an HDCP-compliant display. DVI displays can be HDCP compliant, but aren’t necessarily. HDCP protection is built into the HDMI specification, so if your display has at least one HDMI port, then you should be able to play protected content on your screen.
Energy Star-Certified Monitors Save Power Whether They're On or Off
This display has met the stringent requirements for Energy Star certification. To become Energy Star compliant, a display must adhere to power-saving rules for its On, Sleep, and Off modes. An Energy Star display should use between 25 and 60 percent less energy than a standard, non-Energy Star monitor.

Strengths: No dead pixels, excellent colors, large screen, 4:3 ratio adjustment capability
Weaknesses: No height adjustment, tilts only backwards, wobbly
Overall: When purchasing this monitor I was deciding between LG L227WTGPF, Samsung 2253BW, and this one. Light areas were washed out on LG, and 2253BW was not so good at displaying subtle color changes. So far I am happy with this monitor: although not as accurate as in my old CRT 17" Samsung, colors are vivid and natural (I am using EVGA 256M 8600GTS video card) and I am glad to have more screen space. It can also adjust ratio to 4:3 if you play older games, and won't stretch the picture of your video. Has nice bundled software for color calibration.

Strengths: Strong grayscale and shadow rendering. Vibrant colors. MagicTune software makes it easy to adjust instead of fiddling with buttons on side. DVI cable included.
Weaknesses: Not a thin bezel. No height, pivot adjustments -- though I probably wouldn't use those much anyways.
Overall: Uses 37 watts during use and less than 1 watt when not in sue. Did a side by side video/photo comparison with my previous 22" LCD which was over a year old. Could see that the Samsung T220 did a better job with dark scenes and other shadow areas that would get muddy on the old monitor. It's somewhat on the higher end price range, though it is still a new model.

Strengths: Crystal clear and no broken pixels.
Weaknesses: Its a dust collector and a (little) bit wobbly(only from left to right) That isn't an issue for me.
Overall: This monitor is worth every penny. It has no broken pixels, which on my last monitor I had 2 so thats a relief. Its a (tiny) bit wobbly only from left to right but its not bad at all. CRYSTAL clear and I'm happy I purchased it. I highly recommend it.
