Short On Desk Space? Older Aspect Ratio May Allow a Little More Elbow Room
Once the dominant shape of both televisions and desktop monitors, 4:03 aspect ratio displays such as this one are falling from favor as people want to a more cinematic experience from their displays. With this dimension, you don't get as much extra horizontal space, which can be handy for application palettes or for viewing documents side-by-side.
DVI interface gives you a cleaner picture than older analog connections
This display uses DVI (Digital Video Interface) to connect to a computer. DVI uses a digital signal and delivers a higher quality picture than an analog VGA connection. Older computer may not offer DVI, but almost all computers purchased in the last few years should. Also, be sure to check if the display ships with a DVI cable.
VGA Interface Will Connect to Nearly All Computers and Displays, But At the Cost of Some Clarity
This display has VGA connectivity. Also known as RGB, this analog connector represents the lowest common denominator of display ports. VGA is found on most displays and most computers, ensuring wide compatibility. Computers create a digital video signal, so when you use a VGA connection, the digital video from your computer is converted into analog to go out across the VGA cable, and then re-digitized for use on the display. This can result in image quality that’s not as good-looking as that from a DVI or HDMI connection. Many displays include VGA and a digital connector such as DVI.
Adjust Your Monitor's Height and Avoid a Pain in the Neck
Imagine unboxing your beautiful new display, and about a half hour after you begin using it, developing a kink in your neck from looking down at a poorly positioned monitor. If your display is height adjustable like this one, you can simply raise the screen to your desired level. If the display cannot be raised, you’ll either need to find some stacking risers or other sturdy surfaces to set your display on, or keep an icepack and ibuprofen handy for that stiff neck.
Turn Your World On Its Side With a Rotating Screen
Computer display screens are almost always wider than they are tall. This landscape mode works best most of the time, enabling you to view multiple windows side by side. Other times, however, having a taller, narrower screen may be preferable for reading manuscripts, for displaying information, or for point of sale purposes. For these situations, a display like this one, with a stand that allows you to rotate the screen from landscape to portrait orientation, can come in quite handy. You’ll need to make sure that your computer’s graphics card or the monitor’s included rotation software is compatible with your system.
Energy Star-Certified Monitors Save Power Whether They're On or Off
This display has met the stringent requirements for Energy Star certification. To become Energy Star compliant, a display must adhere to power-saving rules for its On, Sleep, and Off modes. An Energy Star display should use between 25 and 60 percent less energy than a standard, non-Energy Star monitor.

Strengths: clarity
Weaknesses: None
Overall: I like my new monitor because of the compactness, thin frame, clarity & crispness of the picture or print of emails, etc. I also find the ability to change the size of the overall font a real plus. One can change the font or letter size to accommodate your needs. I am 62 yrs old & appreciate this feature.

Strengths: Excellent colors and sharpness. 8ms response time. Thin bezel.
Weaknesses: Gaming performance is good, but not spectacular. No component inputs.
Overall: This monitor is simply stunning. It's the first LCD I've seen that has true blacks and whites - in fact, the colors are as good as any CRT I've used. Images appear bright and sharp, and text quality with Cleartype enabled is outstanding. The monitor has DVI, analog, composite, and S-Video inputs. There is no component input, which is a shame. There is a noticeable increase in image quality using the DVI input - text in particular is much sharper. This is the perfect monitor for photo/video editing, watching DVDs, or general office type work. The sharpness, brightness, fantastic color reproduction, and high resolution make it well suited for those tasks. As a gaming monitor, it is good but not great. There is some ghosting - it's minimal, but still noticeable. If you absolutely can't stand any amount of ghosting, you'd might be better of looking at the 6ms and 4ms monitors available. Still, I can't help but give this monitor five stars. I've never seen an LCD look this good.

Strengths: Excellent picture quality, multiple inputs
Weaknesses: now my wife wants one as well
Overall: Best LCD I have ever used, easily beats the 18" and 19" Dells I have had at work. And a significant progress from my wife's 4 year old Samsung 170MP.I really really like the picture quality, I think this is the first monitor ever where I haven't fiddeled around with brightness, contrast, color temp - it's just fine as it comes out of the box. I haven't noticed any irregularities in brightness or color, nor any pixel errors.I am using the monitor mostly for home office work, sw development etc - no gaming. I have hooked it up to the S-VHS output of a TV Tuner card and love the PIP feature.

Strengths: Brightness, contrast, response time.
Weaknesses: None so far.
Overall: I purchased the SyncMaster 214T to replace the 213T. The 214T has contrast of 900:1 (vs. 500:1 for the 213T), brightness of 300 cd/m2 (vs. 250 cd/m2 for the 213T), and response time of 8 ms (vs. 25 ms for the 213T). I was pleased with the 213T, but I am even more pleased with the 214T. I purchased the 214T at Atriniti.com for $673.
