MSI MX400 Pro-T64S (StarForce 826)

MSI MX400 Pro-TC64S
MX400 Pro-T64S (StarForce 826) Review, by Alexandra Krasne January 18, 2002
WHAT'S HOT: At only $85, this card is an exceptional value. Unlike MX-400-based cards we tested with only 32MB of SDRAM, the MSI MX400 Pro-TC64S was able to complete test games running at 1600 by 1200 resolution (but just barely).
WHAT'S NOT: At 1024 by 768 resolution and above, this card lagged considerably behind the higher-end Titanium-based boards and the Radeon 8500. In Quake III, the game looked a bit jerky and took on a yellowish cast.
WHAT ELSE: The MSI MX400 Pro-TC64S comes with an above-average bundle of hardware and software that includes S-Video-out, color-calibration, and overclocking utilities.
UPSHOT: An excellent buy for gamers on a budget. Serious gamers with more cash should look at the Radeon 8500 and other speedier high-end options.
