  Strengths: Thunderous bass, unbelievable bass, and amazing bass! Has lasted me for over 6 years and still going strong.

  Weaknesses: Control box has always been a little finicky. Sometimes it will produce crackling and pops when I turn the volume up or down. High end is a tiny little lacking.

  Overall: I bought these back in 2003 for $140, shipping included. I am truly astounded at how much I have pushed these to the limit and the still KILL! I recently bought a power inverter for my car and brought the speakers to a tailgater. I must say, they sounded like I had invested $1000 or more in a nice stereo system! I had to be 500 feet away and the bass still shook my bones. Absolutely amazing! I want to find another pair and find a way to permanently mount them in my car.

  Overall: Had to return system #1 because 1 speaker did not work.Return #1, bad sub woofer.Return, #2, 2 speakers not working.Return, #3 sub woofer blows. (burn smell)Return, #4 (UTTERLY ANNOYED)bad sub woofer again.System #5, after "almost" 2 years of service sub woofer blows yet again and of course warranty has expired.I am not that hard on my system from scale of 1 - 10 loudest I played my system was 7.Like playing russian roulette with this system. Sounds GREAT when it works...Good luck.

  Strengths: Powerful bass and good sound

  Weaknesses: Like the last person said, it was built cheap.

  Overall: I had a similar experience to the last person. While mine was fine for a year and a half, the SoundTouch Control Center started causing my speakers to have feedback too. I'm very mad that these are expensive speakers and they would fail like this. The problem is actually caused within the volume knob. The subwoofer still works fine.

  Overall: very good speakers for any type of gaming,music. no treble control but windows has one built in. In response to people with subwoofer problems. If your sub quits working its a 5 minute fix if your handy with a soldering gun. The tinsel leads that go from the hookup terminal to the voice coil of the subwoofer is the problem with the subwoofer. if it quits working pull the sub out and look at the tinsel lead. more then likely its broken or breaking. sinply solder where its frayed and voila perfectly good working subwoofer again.

  Strengths: sensational for movies[especially] and also games , best for things that go boom !

  Weaknesses: not as good for music ! but still quite good. they are very good for bluesy/reggae type music which uses the low bassthey are only 4.1 !

  Overall: i have had these for well over a year and they are great ! value for money they rock! when i got them the z-680s were not available until some 6 months later! i wasnt going to wait that long! everything came in a big box which was neatly packed and contained a small instruction booklet ! set up was very easy, pretty much idiot proof! i have found that they are definately best for movies and are great for games too but they seem to lack mid base for music ! also they have no tweeters or treble adjustment , but this doesnt seem to be a problem sound wise! you can get around this with settings on your pc but it is not generally needed ? i have had these turned up very loud and also very low ! for 99% of the time i run them at about 1/3 volume and with pc volume set at about 75% ! NOTE: i have not had them up super loud for any great length of time - ie 90%volume for 5 mins with pc volume at 75% ! its too **** loud ! blow your head off! :) with the sound volume low i find they seem to lack a bit of clarity ! i tried all sorts of things to improve the clarity and the best i could come up with was to remove the protective grills they come with ,they are much clearer at low volumes without them !NOTE:a lack of clarity at low volumes- i sent logitech an email to find a cure but all they said was to turn the volume of the pc down [windows setting] and use the power of the amp in the bass box ! which was of no use at all! when i have the volume up loud they really need the grills back on them to take the sharpeness off the treble ! i find that they have bucketloads of power and bass and with the pc set at about 75% volume they never really need to be turned up any higher then about 50% [very loud indeed]! the bass seems a bit over powering so to balance it out i ended up keeping the sub away from the corner of the room/wall and also turn the bass adjustment all the way down ! with them turned up to 75% volume and the pc at the 75% they will most definately wake up the neighborhood! they dont distort until ear bleedingly high volume ! i tested them out with all kinds of music , movies and games ! they certainly give you atmosphere for your movies and games ! it is simply amazing how big a difference they they make ! i would go so far as to say that sound is probably more important for your movie or gaming experience than picture quality! you just do not get atmosphere from a high quality picture ! they are best suited to anything that is bass orientated! ie movies and games! highly recommended !
