Duration of ownership: 1 Months
Strengths: Portability, ease of use. space saver
Weaknesses:small debugging in software
Overall Evaluation: This product was recommended to me by a coworker who has used it for 2 years, she had nothing but positive things to say about it!I work in construction and this is great for scanning plans and odd sized documents and the hp panorama maker works excellently to stitch the images together. The resolution is excellent and it is fast, accurate and very quiet.also doubles as a frame when not in use! :)

Duration of ownership: 3 Weeks
Strengths: Very handy for copying portions of blueprints and maps.
Weaknesses:Questionable reliablilty
Overall Evaluation: The scanner worked like a champ for about a week and a half then just died. No lights, no motion, nothing. Customer service sent another fairly rapidly and it tested out okay. We'll see how it goes when the office opens up after the holidays. I'm going to try to purchase an extended warranty just in case.

Duration of ownership: 11 Months
Strengths: Small footprint, easily see item being scanned while it is being scanned. Quick scans, reliable operation. Can remove the scanner picture frame to place on top of items to bulky to fit in a scanner.
Weaknesses:Software interface could be a little more straightforward. Slide/negative film scanner produced noisy scans.
Overall Evaluation: This is one great scanner. It is easy to setup, and it is easy to use. The unconventional design is not just attractive, but functional. I can scan items that don't fit in the conventional flatbed scanner by removing the active scanning component and placing it on top of the item. Only real negative is the quality of the slide/negative film scanner scans.

Duration of ownership: 5 Weeks
Strengths: Easy to install. See what you're scanning through window. Good included software. Easy to set up and use. Handles individual sheets and book pages easily. Great resolution.
Weaknesses:No automatic page feeder. Lightbulb warms slowly... but then it moves quickly.
Overall Evaluation: This thing also scans 35mm negatives and slides. I'm a very happy buyer and user. The accompanying software makes it like kids play to use it efficiently and effectively. I like it much more than my old flat-bed!

Duration of ownership: 6 Months
Strengths: Design
Weaknesses:Quality is terrible!
Overall Evaluation: Our company bought the first one in January 2004, this one broke on 6/9/04 due to overheating to the point that it couldn't be touched on the top right hand corner above the buttons. Called HP, got a replacement, this one broke on 6/29/04. Used it until 8/16/04, just quit in the midst of scanning, still waiting on replacement for that one, back logged for 5 days! Went and bought a brand new one, same model on 8/19/04, overheated on 8/20/04 after only 21 scans. Called HP again, was told to return to store that it was bought at for a refund. Did that, boss still wants another one just like it, bought yet another on 8/24/04, quit working 8/25/04 after about 20 scans again. This product concept is wonderful, easy to use, portable and you can scan all kinds of different sizes of items. Quality on the other hand is obviously beyond terrible, at this time I pretty much lost count on how many of these I've purchased and or been replaced.
