Strengths: Fits in shirt pocket, larger screen which is nice for things like spread sheets

Weaknesses:Does not alway work, software hangs up, connector is weak.

Overall Evaluation: I had a Palm M500 for about 4 years and decided to upgrade only for the color. I had discovered that the engineers that I work with did not use their PDAs when because their's did not fit into their pocket. I was always the one to have my PDA handy in meetings and available for retrieving phone numbers and data. I use it for scheduling by syncing with MS Outlook. This is the best thing ever. I highly recommend the purchase of a PDA that is painless to carry. Now for the bad. I am now on my 4th unit. The latest replacement recently arrived and I am in the process of evaluating it. Now the connector hot sync connector has gone bad. The software results in random hang-ups. Advantgo will sometimes download and sometimes will not download. I never had these problems with the M500 and regret having made the change. Palmone service has hand me on hold for over 30 minutes on a toll call. I later found out I could get through the 800 number for technical issues, but they do not make it easy to discover this fact. Once I get through to tech support they typically make me go through all the tests that I have already performed. On the average I would say it takes >30 minutes of talk time to get tech support to agree there is a problem and to take action. In summary, if the thing worked without issue and the cable was somewhat robust I would be very satisfied. Currently I am an unhappy customer that really likes pocket sized PDAs.

Strengths: Screen size & ROTATION! Easy to use & lots of apps avail., TONS of storage, very small & light, document editing & syncing - great for school.

Weaknesses:Can't get connected to the net through the USB cable, no Wi-Fi, can't create docs (only edit).

Overall Evaluation: Got a good deal through PriceGrabber on this one, $250! My first PDA and I love it! I didn't try it or any other models before I bought it (or check specs) and I just accidentally seem to have gotten the best PDA out there! So far for me no connectivity to the internet through the USB cable sucks. But I probably have it set up wrong; tech support was no help. Would've liked Wi-Fi but the LifeDrive is really expensive. The screen rotation is awesome and I like that the Grafitti area collapses instead of always being 'up'. My favorite thing ever is to go around the house turning on and off anything with a remote using the IR port... so much fun! I have recommended this PDA and pricegrabber to others!

    Strengths: large screen. non-volatile memory.

Weaknesses:Unstable with MANY 3rd party applications including backup software! Screen not bright enough to use outside in the sun.

Overall Evaluation: Long-term Palm user- very disappointed with poor support and denial of problems by Palm Tech support when 3rd party software vendors reveal that Palm has acknowleged problems privately to them!I am locked into Palm so have switched to a Tungsten C. Main drawbacks now are smaller screen and back to volatile memory.
