Strengths: Quieter than normal headphones
Weaknesses:Bad sound quality for the price, shoddy contruction
Overall Evaluation: Bose is really like the overhyped name brand of audio for the mainstream. Do real audiophiles buy Bose? No. Simply because it's not the best and you can get better for less dough. Instead look at companies like AudioTechnica or Shure for great sound reduction or even better sound isolation (Shure).

Strengths: Feeling og quality and luxury, eliminates noise
Weaknesses:none to speak of
Overall Evaluation: I can't compare these to other NC headsets, but I used them on a recent flight and the noise reduction was outstanding. The time flew by, and i was not fatigued due to the lack of noise. They work great even if you don't have music or sound playing. Very relaxing

Strengths: Incredible sound, extremely comfortable, can be used without the cord, different settings for the airplane vs. other devices, nice protective carrying case.
Weaknesses:A little bulky to carry around and they do not work at all without a battery (even if you don't want the noise canceling).
Overall Evaluation: I purchased these on sale this summer before I went on a week long business trip to South America. Before the Bose QC2s I had tried cheaper versions from Altec Lansing and Magnavox. Those headphones always worked "so-so" but they never blocked enough noise, were a little uncomfortable, and they *always* had a buzz or hum associated with the noise canceling feature. Sure the Bose headphones ended up being 5 times as much but boy are they worth it. They are so comfortable to wear and they sound incredible! My wife just used them on a trip to Europe and she gave the same feedback...they were a lifesaver. Some people say that Bose products are all hype and maybe some are, but the QC2's are the real deal. I'd buy another pair in a heartbeat. My only two complaints are that the cases is a little bulky (but very protective compared to the "bags" you get with cheaper headphones) and that you can't use them without the noise canceling feature if your battery dies. The latter problem is easily remedied by carrying an extra AAA battery or two in the convenient pouch located in the carrying case.

Strengths: They do what they say.
Weaknesses:Does not make tea.
Overall Evaluation: I bought my headset because I damaged my hearing working on the lighting for a BBC Elton John concert. His PA runs at 125db minimum, but this was not the problem. I have to listen to production talkback, but because I had to crank it up so loudly to drown out the din in the auditorium I ended up damaging my hearing. After about two weeks my hearing returned to normal. I don't want to be deaf at 40 so I got some of these. I tried all the others but none of them work. We had them on trial at our studios and they went down well with the sound engineers so I bought some. Now I can hear my instructions from production in noisy venues without having to perforate my eardrums! Benefits on this model include big phones which provide a comfortable seal all the way around your ears helping to reduce noise from the outside. As for audio reproduction, they sound pretty good to me. In the UK this item can be classed as a Health and Safety accessory and their full value can be claimed back against tax - nice eh?

Strengths: Noise Cancelation is pretty good in an office environment. Cool looking.
Weaknesses:Not durable at all.
Overall Evaluation: I use my headphones every day working in an video game dev office. I am very good to them and handle them carefully. But the plastic just breaks. They are so cheap. Now maybe I have a big head (I don't hear anyone laugh at me behind my back) but they just broke. I had them replaced twice and now the warranty is out and I have tape all up and down these things. Would be worth the money if they lasted.
