Strengths: This is a very powerful program and can do amazing things with photos. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to manipulate photos and add special effects.
Weaknesses:I miss the "Undo" arrow and the "file open" icon. I don't like the extra step required to undo an edit.
Overall Evaluation: For some reason, in Photoshop Elements (only), my computer mouse acts like it's slogging through mud. I've gone into the Control Panel and programmed it to go as fast as possible (so it really ZOOMS in other programs), but it didn't help much. Very frustrating! I also would prefer the "Undo" arrow icon and the "file open" icon rather than having to go "File/Open" and "Edit/Undo". Tried to see if there was a way to add those icons to the toolbar, but there doesn't seem to be. Otherwise, the program can do amazing things with photos and time can really fly by when you get into using it.

Strengths: Great interface to PS Elements. Heaps of templates. Ability to manipulate photos and videos easily
Weaknesses:SErious Performance Issue when Transitions are added in Sceneline
Overall Evaluation: Be careful there is a SERIOUS performance issue when you add Transitions. Screen actions then take an average 30 seconds. Pls see Adobe User Forums link below. Adobe call it a design "feature" and refuse to fix it. You have to use Video 2 track to avoid slowdown. Note that the Sceneline uses Video 1 by default and when you move all the data to Video 2, Sceneline compreeses all the images into one image and becomes useless.

Strengths: Easy to add voice-overs. Simple SceneLine for beginners.
Weaknesses:Horrible battleship grey. A codec for your computer must be downloaded to insert mpeg2, ie. a home video DVD. No phone or email support at this time.
Overall Evaluation: Versions 1 & 2 had the mpeg2 codecs already installed, not so version 3; in order to insert a home video DVD you need a codec code that has to be downloaded from Adobe and is active for your particular computer. You need the serial# for your Adobe PE 3 and the webpage URL at Adobe. Unfortunately, the serial# on the box was incomplete and the software activation address wrong also. It should be: adobe.com/special/encoderactivation/sw_activation If your computer is not connected to the Internet, there is no way to obtain a Codec code for your machine. I've written to the company in California asking for a solution.

Strengths: Two excellent products for beginners. Both are powerful enough to get someone started and moving up to the bigger Adobe products.
Weaknesses:Adobe Premiere has some limitations that you can work around but it takes a little doing.
Overall Evaluation: I read a bunch of reviews of this package and most were positive. I have to add that my own experience with them has also been very good. Adobe makes some powerful stuff and these two products in one for this price is unbeatable. Photoshop Elements has all the major stuff you would want from Photoshop and is a really good place to start on image editing. Premiere Elements is a little stripped down but still a powerful package for video editing. I have used the full version of Premiere 6.0 and Elements is not very far behind. I would highly recommend this package for anyone interested in getting started with image and video editing.

Strengths: Photoshop is easy to navigate around. Lots of features for the low price. Not yet tested the Element side.
Weaknesses:None found so far.
Overall Evaluation: Very easy to use with automatic way of categorizing pictures. Pull down menus are not overcrowded with too many options. Downloads seemlessly from my digital camera. Tutorial is great for beginners. Anyone with some experience with other similar software will find this very simple to use. The price at a special $99 is fantastic from Amazon.
