Strengths: terrible computer
Weaknesses:everything
Overall Evaluation: worst laptop package ever... but that statement is a little vague, lemme be specific.
1 OS decided to "reset" itself when i walked away from the computer for about 10 min. Lost term papers and tons of other academic related material when system restore wouldn't "restore". Had several IT people look into the situation but no resolution as to why this happened.
2. AC adapter is literally falling apart. I try not to plug it in and walk away in fear that it may cause a fire.
3. Probably goes without saying that if the ac adapter is poor, the battery is also poor. A full charged battery gets me about 15 minutes worth of wireless.
Most likely, there are many factors that contributed to this computer not performing the way it should. Whatever those reasons are, the result is me never buying a computer made by toshiba again.

Review:
Toshiba Tecra M9-S5514
Laptop meets EPEAT Gold environmental standards but has average speed and short battery life.
We tested Toshiba's Tecra M9-S5514 as part of "Green PCs: A First Step," a story on energy-efficient computing. This all-purpose laptop is Energy Star 4.0 certified and meets the stringent EPEAT Gold environmental impact standard. (EPEAT is a program funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; its rating reflects the laptop's impact in areas like recycling and the use of toxic substances.) Other than that, this lightweight model doesn't stand out in any particular way; its speed is average, its battery life is short, and its price makes it a tad expensive ($1799 as of 9/12/07).
