  Overall Evaluation: To those who think this is going to make 400 Firewire run at 800, why on Earth would you think that? It's an adapter, not magic. This is perfect for plugging Firewire 400 devices into computers that only have Firewire 800 inputs. Like the new Mac Laptops.

  Weaknesses:It's just a connector/adapter.

  Overall Evaluation: Disappointed to know after testing it with my firewire 400 hard drive, it didn't make it to run like firewire 800. It's only use to connect your legacy firewire 400 devices to firewire 800 port of your computer. Hope this will help anyone thinking what to expect.
