Logitech Z-4 2.1 Speaker System

Strengths: Extreme affordability, plenty of volume, remote is very convenient, very easy to install
Weaknesses:Striking a good balance between mids and highs on the satellites can be difficult, satellites are really easy to knock over (base isn't grippy/heavy enough).
Overall Evaluation: Overall, Logitech continues to impress with the quality of their products. Every piece of Logitech gear I have ever owned or used has done its job very well. These speakers continue the trend, being amazingly affordable (~60 bucks), and delivering strong and crisp sound. Having the wired remote makes the speakers very easy to adjust, and the headphone jack is also nice to have (it also doesn't need to be on to route sound to a pair of headphones). The woofer is surprisingly ballsy for something so cheap, and the satellites do their job nicely as well. My only real issues with the system are that the satellites are really easy to knock over ( the base is very light and the pads are not very grippy), and that sometimes it is difficult to get a nice balance between mids and highs from them. Really these are both minor complaints. This is a fantastic system for the price, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Also, note that while the pictures for this seem to indicate that the speakers are wireless, they aren't.

Strengths: Small, modern style. Sub can fit in small spaces. Remote feels good in hand.
Weaknesses:Bass a little on the weak side. Speakers can get damaged by probing fingers.
Overall Evaluation: I have had quite a few Logitech speakers over the years, mostly 4.1 and 5.1 models. This time around, I needed something that was compact so I opted for the Z4 speakers because the style was decent and the wired remote seemed well designed. I hooked them up in short order and ran them through the normal tests with music that has mostly instrumentals and music with heavy bass. My verdict? Well, I think that Logitech did a good job putting these together. The Z4s aren't going to give my 400 watt speakers any competition, buy I knew that from the start. What you will get is surprisingly clear sound with adequate bass. Nothing that is going to bring the house down, but enough for everyday use. Just make sure to keep people from poking at the exposed speaker cones. These speakers are an overall good value.

Strengths: style, sound quality, power saving(40w)
Weaknesses:misleading ad pictures,
Overall Evaluation: I bought this to replace my logitech z640. My room is too small to place z640 5.1 speakers. The new stylish z4 speakers fit my PC desk better. The remote control allows me to control the bass volume, which is an improvement from the previous models. And it is easy to play from an mp3 player with the z4 speakers. The sound quality is fine and crispy. It also saves power than 5.1 speakers. One thing bad about the z4 speakers is about the misleading sample pictures. The z4 pictures from logitech seem to be cordless. Actually all four pieces come with wires. And that degrades it from four stars to three stars.

Strengths: Good color and background, good bass, good basic speaker set up
Weaknesses:Big base, hard to hide away,
Overall Evaluation: Works like you expect it to, can get the volume up really loud and annoy the neighbors. Good basic speakers and they really look cool with the exception of the big base. Recommended.

Strengths: Affordable PriceAttractive DesignGood sound qualityPowerful bass for a small room
Weaknesses:Wired remote control
Overall Evaluation: After using my laptop's built-in speakers for the last 5 years, these speakers are like a fresh spring breeze. These speakers sound great, are easy to set up, and were a really good deal. I paid $80 and am expecting $55 in rebates, so I'll have them for $25 hopefully. Sometimes I'm afraid that my neighbors will complain that they're too loud- especially the bass. Please take into account the fact that I'm tone deaf and I live in a small studio apartment.
