Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks
Strengths: Range of options that will suit the causal snapshooter as well as someone with advanced applications in mind.
Weaknesses:Nothing that would stop me from recommending or buying this product again. See comments...
Overall Evaluation: In the 2 week of owning the camera I had a chance to use it in a variety of situations and for different purposes. I am very pleased with it and the pictures I got are really nice. I never owned a SLR camera before, instead I had 6 digital cameras only to be frustrated with their common problems and the lack of flexibility without spending serious $$$.Despite the digital age and slow death of 35mm, I am not regretting this purchase. The camera is very intuitive and easy to use. The focus is fast and 95% accurate. Possibly the 5% of pictures I took were simply my errors as I still am mastering the handling of this piece.First the praises:* Price and Nikon quality* Ergonomics (except for the aperture selection -- see below) are quite good. Everything is within finger's reach and one doesn't have to hunt for the buttons* I LOVE THE FACT that the camera retracts (vs extends) the film into the casing so in case of accidental exposure to the light, the pictures already taken are nice and safe within the film casing -- DOUBLE THUMBS UP.* The viewfinder is nice and bright and the setting display (shutter speed, exposure meter etc.) is clear to see in any light. As every opinion is subjective and depends on the author's point of view, my gripes are few and not really significant. Here they are:* The aperture selection through the body in manual mode truly deserves a better way instead of holding down a button and rotating the selection dial. Possibly a second dial would be more helpful as the camera forces you to control the aperture through the body with any CPU lens.* There should be an auto-off option so that a lazy person like myself doesn't leave the camera on for days draining the batteries. I guess if you buy the optional battery pack this gripe becomes void but if you plan on using CR-2's for the rest of the camera's life, this option would save you a buck or two.* The built-in flash is not without it's flaws. It's powerful but that also has it's issues. It is best suited for long ranges or as a fill-in on sunny days but for causal indoor shots it produces crummy results. A simple add-on speedlight will solve that problem by bouncing the flash or softening it with a cap.* Last, but not least, from what I understand (and I hope that I can be corrected) the flash sync on this puppy is only 1/90. But I guess that gripe belongs in the you "get what you pay for" department. When you get this camera, I very much recommend that you consider the optional battery pack (as it will save you $$$ in the long run) and a speedlight that will make all the difference in your indoor shots.Overall, I give this camera a double thumbs up. I would recommend it to anyone who wants a SLR to do newbie to advanced photography.

Duration of ownership: 7 Days
Strengths: Ease of operation, very user friendly, simple bracketing. I also like the pop-up flash in auto mode which my N80 doesn't have.
Weaknesses:Nowhere as durable as the N80. If your doing sports with alot of continous shooting go with the N80.
Overall Evaluation: The N75 manual actually explains operating functions in more detail than my N80. Overall I think the N75 is good for "quick" shooting which is why I purchased it, no real setting up for a shot and has all the presets a beginner will need. Overall though for the serious picture taking I still love my N80.
