    Strengths: GOOD WHILE WORKED

    Weaknesses:NOT DURABLE

Overall Evaluation: 13 MONTHS INTO OWNING THE 890 PRO THE SCREEN WENT BLANK. AFTER TROUBLESHOOTING ONLINE AND NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT FROM LOGITECH I WAS TOLD THAT I CAN GET ANY OTHER REMOTE FROM THEM FOR 50% OFF. THE ONE TO REPLACE IT IS $400.00. SO AFTER $250.00 FOR THE 890 I AM DOWN $450. NOT SURE IF NEW PRODUCT WILL LAST SO WHAT ARE YOU TO DO . ALL MY COMPONETS ARE IN CLOSET AND IT LOOKS AS THOUGH LOGITECH CORNERED THE MARKET ON RF REMOTES LIKE EDDIE MURPHY AND DAN AKROID IN TRADING PLACES DID WITH ORANGE JUICE.

Strengths: Easy setup, easy to use, clear instructions

Weaknesses:Support for this or any other item from Logitech is an absolute joke. Painful to update.

Overall Evaluation: I've had my unit for some time now and it's worked very well, particularly in my application in which I have my components hidden behind a wall. I recently upgraded my system with a new TV and BlueRay player so I had to re-configure my devices. I'm not sure where it occurred, but my RF extender stopped working with the remote. It's not clear whether the extender stopped receiveing, the remote stopped sending RF, or the extender stopped transmitting IR to the devices.I'm not a novice at this stuff so I was able to force the remote and the extender to reload their software versions but it still didn't fix it. When I went to the Logitech site I learned that aside from the first 30 days of ownership there is no customer support. No phone, no chat support, nothing. The best you will can do is submit your problem through email and wait for a response.I submitted my questions and finally after 8 days got a response from them that told me to force a reload of software versions on my remote and extender (which I had already done). They had the assume that would fix the problem without any feedback from me and closed the item as resolved. If you can deal with this kind of arrogance and disregard for you as a customer, the unit itself is great other than a nagging little problem of not always charging as it should when placed into it's recharging cradle. Once it discharges completely you will no longer be able to charge it from the cradle and will have to hook it up to your USB port on you PC to give it a minimal amount of charge before it will start charging again from the cradle. One other inconvenience that might irritate you is that you will always be forced to update both the remote and the extender whenever you make any changes. Even if the device you are updating does not use the extender you will have to have the extender to complete the update process.Good luck if you choose this unit. As for myself, I'm moving on to some other company that cares about it's customers and their products enough to actually provide customer support.

    Strengths: Works very well

    Weaknesses:Software is terrible and glitchy

Overall Evaluation: I bought 2 of these for 2 systems in 2 of my houses. Programming was about 20 minutes for the first one and worked flawlessly the first time. The other house was slightly more complex and took about an hour, mainly due to be timed out of the Harmony site. After this it worked perfectly as well. I had a very bad experience with a Harmony 880 which never worked properly, but the 890 has been a real joy. All of my components are behind doors and the rf works perfectly. I am surprised to say that I am actually very pleased with this product. update to this review, I have now been using this for over 6 months, one of the charging pins on the remote wore out, Harmony sent a whole new remote within 3 days, plugged it in and in minutes it was working, I have also added a couple of components and it was very easy to program and everything works perfectly. Sometimes it is a little slow, but I can live with that, I am controlling a Denon reciever, panasonic tv, toshiba, dvd, and direct tv hd dvr and and dlo ipod dock, its great. the quality is probably not as good as Universal remote, but its half the price and I can program it all myself with no problem and very little time. I would definitely recommend this product and coming from me, that say something. Changing my rating to 5 stars, very good product and value for the money.

Strengths: Pretty easy to program via online interface.

Weaknesses:Not good signal strength. Doesn't communicate well through my component cabinet with the door closed. Slow response time on buttons.

Overall Evaluation: I'm amending my prior review. I had high hopes for an all-in-one remote. It was easy to program through the online interface, but the communication between the remote and my components was not great. There was no communication when the door to my components cabinet was closed. I had to turn the remote just the right way to get it to respond even when I was nearby with the cabinet doors open. After working with Logitech's very helpful customer support, apparently the IR blaster was not positioned well to communicate with my components. I ended up having to use the rf extender cables to communicate directly with each component. I had really hoped to have a good, wireless remote solution. It's performing better with the extenders, but still not all I'd hoped.
