    Duration of ownership: 1 Weeks

Strengths: Very easy to set up.

    Weaknesses:None. Works perfectly as advertised.

Overall Evaluation: This product works great. It saves so much money in the long run since this machine will let you have your fax and phone calls run together on just one line. It automatically distinguishes if a fax or voice call is comming and in no time it will transfer the call to either the fax machine or to your phone. Takes no more than ten minutes to set up!!!!

Strengths: Very easy to set up.

    Weaknesses:None in my particular application.

Overall Evaluation: If you want to save the cost of a dedicated fax line this is the answer. Easy to set up and if you have any questions they have a toll free number for support. If you need a unit for 2 phone lines look at the ComSwitch 7500.

Strengths: Easy to install and set up, no line noise or interference, reasonably priced

Weaknesses:None, if more ports are needed, there are a number of other ComSwitch models that can accomodate you!

Overall Evaluation: I use this at home and at work. It is easy to install and set-up for all applications. It does not generate any line noise or interference like some other switchers I have tried to use. It is DSL compatible too! This purchase is to replace one with water/flood damage.

Strengths: The Comswitch was VERY easy to hook up and use. The phone jacks on the back are plainly and clearly labeled.

Weaknesses:The switching "uses up" one ring, which changes the way an answering machine answers.

Overall Evaluation: The Comswitch 5500 is very easy to install and use. It works exactly as promised.I only had one problem with setting up my phone system, and it wasn't the Comswitch's fault. I ordered "signal ring" (also called distinctive ring and selective ring by other phone companies), and at first thought the comswitch wasn't working. I unplugged it and called my selective ring number and discovered that my phone company had my signal ring programmed as 'short ring-long ring-short ring', NOT the 'short ring-short ring' required by the Comswitch. A quick phone call to my phone carrier and they reprgrammed my selective ring to ring with two short rings and the Comswitch then handled the calls exactly as promised.I now have my main number switched to my phone and answering machine, and my selective ring number automatically diverted to my fax machine by the Comswitch. I am pleased.
