Kodak Easyshare C663 Silver Digital Camera

The Kodak EasyShare C663 Digital Camera provides a 6.1 megapixel resolution, a huge 2.5-inch LCD screen, a Schneider-Kreuznach Variogon 3x optical zoom lens, and is the first camera to incorporate the proprietary Kodak Perfect Touch Technology. It also uses the exclusive Kodak Color Science image processing chip for phenomenal image quality with rich color and accurate skin tones. Furthermore, seventeen programmed scene modes (e.g., party, fireworks, children) and five color modes help capture the best shot with the least effort.On-camera picture-enhancing features include cropping, auto picture rotation, digital red-eye reduction, and blurry picture alert. The EasyShare C663 also integrates Kodak's Share button with its 'favorites' feature for storing multiple pictures in an on-camera digital photo album. Each picture can then be shared anytime on the camera's high-resolution 2.5-inch indoor/outdoor LCD display. For capturing more than just still pictures, the camera also features high-quality (VGA) video capture, playback and video action print options.

Strengths: user friendly instructions; zoom and crop feature; many different backgrounds; large view screen with a view finder; great picture quality;

Weaknesses:I haven't found any as of this writing.

Overall Evaluation: I would definitely recommend the Kodak Easy Share C663 for all of the following reasons. I really like that this camera allows me to zoom in on subjects and crop them at once. The multiple settings for different types of backgrounds is awesome. I also love how easy it is to use and how they walk you through what each setting is for. It takes fantastic pictures both closeup and far away. The large 2.5" viewing screen is awesome. It is great to have the view finder as an option in certain situations where it is difficult to see the subject matter on the view screen. I cannot think of a better camera in this price range.

Weaknesses:sometime has purple ridge under high light conditionlack of IS

Overall Evaluation: The camera is in very compact size, has all the features and functions that a family-use point-shoot camera should have. Vivid color and Germany-made lens supercede other Kodak C serious. The only thing I have some concerns is the purple fride when taking pictures under strong light condition. Overall, it's an affordable family friendly camera.

Strengths: Compact size, rechargeable battery, 2.5in LCD, top quality Schneider lens, Kodak perfect touch tech for improved pictures, battery life, optical viewfinder

Weaknesses:Red eye correction, shutter recycle time - all relatively minor

Overall Evaluation: Great well constructed little camera that works well and takes great pictures and for the price is a bargain especially in light of the Schneider lens. LCD view of photo was not as good as I though it should be however when I downloaded to my PC, the quality was excellent. Battery rechargeable is handy and uses 2 AA. Great for vacations, size just right. Optical viewfinder handy as well.
