The lows and mids, assisted by the FreeFlow? flared port, are loud and clear, without unwanted distortion or boominess. The Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal (EOS?) waveguide ensures that every seat is the best in the house for sweet music and intelligible dialogue, or for just rocking out. Since the transducers were purpose-designed to work together harmoniously, JBL's simple Straight-Line Signal Path? (SSP) crossover network divides the signal with minimal processing (and minimal opportunity to degrade the signal). Dual sets of sturdy gold-plated, 5-way binding posts enable bi-amping or bi-wiring. With the high and low frequencies isolated, the E30's transducers can reproduce their frequency ranges more efficiently and with greater accuracy. The computer-designed, lock-mitred cabinet virtually eliminates distortion, and its slim European profile won?t overpower your room.

  Overall Evaluation: Purchasing a set of these speakers is like buying a concert hall! The sound is tremendous, and faithfully reproduced from the lowest of the bass to the highest overtone. I'm a music afficionado with 14 years of experience playing the trumpet and a Masters degree in acoustics, so I know a thing or two about good sound.

  Overall Evaluation: I'm using 4 of these JBL e30's to round out my 7.1 surround with JBL e80's for my front left and right speakers as well as a yamaha sw315 subwoofer on my yamaha rxv659 receiver. these speakers are just about perfect for what I'm using them for, their clarity and big sound easily fills my room. they could probably be used for front channel speakers. the depth and clarity of the sound is unparalleled. a definite best buy at 120$ a pair.

  Overall Evaluation: These speakers are awesome. The clarity is amazing. You can hear every minute detail even at low volume. They even sound better than my professional studio speakers. When it comes to movies, these two speakers sound better than my entire THX 5.1 satellite sound sytem with woofer that I had before. Talk about big sound. When watching movies, every voice sounds like the person is standing in front of you and every action scene sounds like you have massive floor standing speakers. What a good buy.
