Weaknesses:SCREEN BURN-IN!!! Menu Options. Confusing mount instructions. Definition

Overall Evaluation: First - watching my friends LCD - he has way better black and that "3D" look then this tv. Second - The burn-ins abound - the input screen (pops up when you turn the tv on or switch input methods) has burned in - this is a function of the TV. PS3 burn-in. Pause button burn-in - oh and btw when I pause my movies I turn the TV off immediately. I have a TV, Bose speakers and other sound system since 1995 - that is how good I take care of my stuff. This TV sucks. When I confronted panasonic (still within the MFG warranty period) they said they do not cover burn-ins - even if it is caused by the tv functionality. AVOID THIS TV.

Overall Evaluation: We are very happy about out investment. We could not stand the our other TVs in the house anymore

Duration of ownership: 1 Months

Strengths: Very clean & visually well designed front & back. The only brand I could find w/ front panel S-Video, Video/L-R Audio inputs for camcorder, digital camera or laptop plus an SD Mem Card slot. Lots of inputs jacks in back including two 2 HDMI inputs (both used) to allow many connecting options to other components. (Sam's Club has the best price on 6' HDMI cables.) A additional DVI input jack would have been nice for connection to my computer. Really great picture & vivid colors, but have discovered the TV video quality is very dependent on each programs' original video quality coming in via cable (input signal is strong). On this TV, the HD is usually Excellent. Oddly, on local channels, the Analog video broadcast is usually visually better/sharper than the same local channel's Standard Digital broadcast. The manual is decent, but would have liked more details.

Weaknesses:1. Audio OK for a TV, but much better through a theatre audio receiver system. 2. SD slot works, but actual use in manual is slow and the color took on a very red hue. Adjusting the colors adversely affects colors for normal TV viewing. 3. Did not like the silver grey borders on sides and/or top/bottom for programs that do not fit the screen. The borders should be black or as dark as possible. The borders are distracting. Still trying to figure out what is best "aspect" ratio to use on non HD programs.

Overall Evaluation: Lucked out. Stood in line with 2 friends at Honolulu's Best Buy on black Friday from 3am till they opened at 5am. There was already 1000 people in line, but we decided to stay anyway. Of course, by the time I got in, BB was sold out of this Panisonic model, but after an hour of other shopping, learned that BB would honor the $999.99 price on orders on 200 units from warehouse storck in Calif. i waited in line for another hour, but it was worth it. Picked up the TV 2 wks later. Took about 10 hours (over 2.5 days) to completely open, position properly in LR and figure out how to connect/setup to the Cable DVR, my theater audio system including, DVD Player, DVD/VCR Recorder & VCR. The connections are very different from my old Analog setup & required 3 do overs to get right. A powered splitter separates the input Time Warner Cable signal into 4 outs to the cable DVR, my DVR/VCR Recorder, VCR, & computer tuner. For local HD broadcast not on cable service, a small tabletop antenna worked well (I was a bit confused by how Digital & HD channels are numbered/identified).

Strengths: COLOR IS EXCELLENT RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. CONTROLS ARE EASY TO USE. HOWEVER, SPECIFIC DIRECTIONS ON CONTROLS ARE LACKING.

Weaknesses:THE SOUND HAS A LONG WAY TO GO.

Overall Evaluation: I HAVE THE 50 INCH UNIT. DIRECTIONS AREN'T VERY GOOD. PICTURE QUALIITY EXCELLENT. SOUND IS VERY POOR FOR WHAT THE UNIT COSTS.

Duration of ownership: 3 Days

Strengths: Great colors, great contrast, great detail inside shadows (my method for rating TVs). Easy setup, fast instalation, SD signals still look as god as they did on my 24 inch...huge selaction of connection methods...

Weaknesses:No VGA/DVI input (get a dvi/vga adaptor to hdmi), in standard mode the tv pushes the green spectrum, in vivid you lose the detailed shadows but your contrast is boosted a billion percent.

Overall Evaluation: I've watched only SD programing sofar and it looks as good if not better than it did on my old 24' sony trinitron :P If you realy want a great test of the contrast of this unit go buy Splintercell Double-Agent and drool as every little hair on his head stands out even in the darkest shadows... something that no LCD ive seen can claim... the only blurring u get is from the game its sellf. Its amazing...
