Strengths: * Well quality build* Exceptionally vivid colors

    Weaknesses:None

Overall Evaluation: I looked at many brands of filter before having decided to get this Hoya filter. I didn't want to get any cheap filter either. So after thorough research I bought this filter for my Canon 24-70L lens in May for our Cancun trip mainly for protection of my expensive L lens. I was afraid that it would have affected the outcome for the worse then I would be in trouble with my wife. I tested it at home before the trip and after the trip I couln't be any happier. The pictures come out vividly colorful and very real. The Cancun's water (ocean) came out beautifully blue and green as if you are there next to it. (This was with my Rebel Xti camera).I recently upgraded to the Canon 40D and this just matches so well with the combo of the L lens and Hoya UV filter.I feel so safe now with the protection and wonderful surprise this Hoya brings. Totally recommend this filter to anyone who owns and wants to protect his/her expensive lens.

    Strengths: Thin, Good Protection

    Weaknesses:Cost

Overall Evaluation: I have this filter on my Tokina AT-X 124 AF Pro DX 12-24mm f/4 wide angle Lens and don't have any issues with vignetting. If you purchase a normal size UV filter, beware of the rim thickness that may cause vignetting. The filter provides good protection for your expense lens. There are other cheaper UV filters if you don't have a wide angle lens, but if you do have a wide angle lens, get this filter!

Strengths: Ultra thin filter frames (3mm thickness) to help avoid vignetting on super wide angle lenses

    Weaknesses:More expensive

Overall Evaluation: Use it to protect the front element of my Nikon lens. The way I see it is cheaper to replace the filter instead of the front element of my lens. Since it is only 3mm thick, it eliminates the chances of vignetting on super wide angle lenses especially stacking more than one filter.
