Strengths: Works well and is precise, easy setup

Weaknesses:Looses signal qaulity easily, does not work well with Windows Media Center. Easy to activate right side button inadvertently.

Overall Evaluation: I have two of the 5000's, one at work and one at home. Both seem to warn of low signal on occasion but not a big deal. The one at work is great and convenient with option buttons on the side. The one for home on my Windows Media Center Edition computer stops the screensaver from operating. Apparently this is a common problem and Microsoft suggested a fix that didn't work. The fix did stop me from being able to use the dvd player. Come on Microsoft, they're both your products !!!

Strengths: Long battery life. Smooth scroll wheel.

    Weaknesses:Signal strength. Side button location.

Overall Evaluation: I bought this wireless laser mouse at a low price after rebate. Overall it is a very good mouse. It is symmetrical to fit both right and left handed users. It is comfortable but being a right handed user, I believe a model like Laser Mouse 6000 provides a slightly better fit. The scroll wheel is very smooth and quiet, like in other Microsoft models. The battery is supposed to last 6 months, which is very good. The magnifier is a handy feature. However, the side button to activate the magnifier is too easily pressed accidentally. The signal strength seems a little weak. The mouse is only a couple feet from the receiver but the weak signal warning pops up every few days. It still works without any problem but it makes me wonder. May be I just have too many other interfering electronic items on my desk.

Strengths: Accurate, easy to use and install, works well

Weaknesses:no battery indicator light, kind of big

Overall Evaluation: This has been a great mouse overall. I use it for gaming and I even bought a second one as a gift. I wish it had more programmable buttons, a battery indicator light, and was a little more sleek looking but it works great as is. USB wirless station is a little big but not different from other Microsoft mice I've had. I wish it was little like the size of a thumb drive.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Precise, comfortable

    Weaknesses:None so far

Overall Evaluation: I bought this mouse for a decent price after rebate. The mouse is pretty good responsive and the scroll wheel is very smooth. I have used many mice before but this scroll wheel is one of the smoothest of all the mice I had. The battery life seems to be long (used already two months and still using). Overall this is a decent mouse.
