  Overall Evaluation: The SONY XPLOD Boombox is an excellent product - it has great sound quality, can deliver strong bass, has equalizer presets to control tone & midrange. It is sturdy - a full beer bottle (closed) fell off a table and hit the speaker mesh wire cover - small dent, no damage.It is heavy, not really portable for lugging to beach.I recommend it highly

  Overall Evaluation: After reading the many descriptions of this boombox on the internet and looking at this supposedly great boombox... What a major major disappointment... Contrary to the specifications and descriptions... This BoomBox does not play MP3 CD's... What a freakin' waste.. Sony has really screwed up and dropped the ball on this one. I mean... this is 2006 for Heaven's sake.. not 1975!! Where is the benefit of playing MP3?? Heck NO!! Of course, I did not buy it.

  Weaknesses:1. No mention of ATRAC? 2. Very uncomfortable handle 3. Ugly as sin to me

  Overall Evaluation: 1. As an x musician I know music and eqs, and though there's three minimum eq settings, EQ is professionally done in the studio so we mortals don't need to customize it further - hello. 2. The sound is very good, better than the Kaboom to me which is all bass. 3. The friggin' handle - yeouch - is not made for hands and it's heavy. 4. But N ONE knows if it plays ATRAC? Not the manual, not JVC website, not CCity - that's just WRONG. Or maybe I'm dumb but that's Way Wrong!
