  Duration of ownership:

  Strengths: Strength and appearance

  Weaknesses:Perhaps more robust and expensive than my application warranted. The cable casing arrangement along the cantilever arms is rather "fiddly."

  Overall Evaluation: I wanted to install a new 40" flat panel LCD TV in a family room with built-in shelf units along the relevant wall, and the spacing of the verticals in the shelf units meant that I would need to cantilever the TV about 25" from the supporting wall.I first became aware of the OmniMount UCL-L mounts when browsing TVs in a high-end audio/video store, where they were described to me as "the top of the line" for cantilevered mounts. I then saw them, priced more cheaply, in a chain electronics store, and research at PriceGrabber showed that I could buy one on-line for about half the price I had initially seen them.The unit is, when mounted properly, very sturdy . . . and also very convenient in this type of application. I can pull the TV out from the shelf casing to allow convenient access to the rear for set-up purposes . . . certainly, it's a lot more easily accessible than my prior 27" CRT TV was.

  Duration of ownership: 4 Weeks

  Strengths: Fits tv in wall for corner positioning in bedroom. Very well made and easy to install if you have studs in right place.

  Weaknesses:A little tough to get screws into wire covers on arms with wires blocking holes.

  Overall Evaluation: I now own 2 and would recommend this product highly. You will be impressed. Adjusts about 4 inches side to side to compensate for stud placement. It helps positioning to get closer to where you want.

  Duration of ownership:

  Strengths: Full 90 degree articulation of 42 inch TV relative to wall.

  Weaknesses:Designed for 16 inch on center wall framing construction. To use with 24 inch on center walls you will need additional hardware.

  Overall Evaluation: Good product as it allows for our 42" TV to be tucked out of the way when not in use. Solved the 24" OC mounting problem by having a local metal fabricator make a couple of additional brackets with 24" OC holes to lag to the studs and 16" OC holes to mount the unit. Worked out great.
