  Weaknesses:Ordered with 300 Gig Hard Drive Kit. The Base has no sound, the hard drive does not show as working or present when searchig for it under "My Computer" or anywhere else on the laptop

  Overall Evaluation: After over 80 pages of e-mail, hours of chat and telephone conversations with HP techs, no solution was found. I wanted tech to take back both the computer and laptop to fix but they would not. They said they would do one thing at a time. First send me a xb 3000 base replacement (and after argument the 300 gig hard drive also), then if problem not solved they would work with me on any laptop deficiency. HP simply has no expertise in this base. Well, when the replacement base never arrined on the promised and e-mail confirmed date, I got stalled a while with HP saying the base is still in production. Finally when I pointed out to the tech manager handling the case that they advertise them as available, he said HP tech and sales are not the same. I got fed up with more delays and yesterday ordered a new one from sales which Fed X says is already shipped in two parts base and hard drive seperate. I will deal with the financial loss of ordering two (second one higher price without $50 rebate on hard drive) via my credit card company and HP. I'll update if the new base works.

  Overall Evaluation: Good HP product. I feel very comfortable for my HP laptop. Istrongly recommended to HP laptop holders. Best expansion base for HP laptops. All facilities is given in that. Good entertainment production.

  Strengths: Lots of USB ports.

  Weaknesses:Wireless keyboard and mouse can be a pain to connect.Doesn't come with power supply.

  Overall Evaluation: If you uses your laptop most of the time in one place like a work station then this is a must. You have tons of USB ports, VGA hookup for second monitor and ethernet port when you don't want to have any issue with network. The keyboard and mouse are very nice but do find that they can be a pain to make the wireless work but it seems that a pair of fresh battries does the trick. The best part is when you want to uses your laptop on the go you just have to un-plug one connection and bingo you are on the go. Highly recommend that if you want this to be more on the go get a second power supply (base uses same power supply as laptop).

  Strengths: Ease of connection to laptop, wireless keyboard and mouse, many usb ports for connectivity.

  Weaknesses:No firewire port for downloading digital video or express card slot

  Overall Evaluation: For the most part, this x3000 expansion base is just what I needed. It easily connected to my laptop and made looking at the screen easy and eased the strain on my neck.

  Strengths: Easy to connect accessories and laptop, extra ports.

  Weaknesses:Big and bulky on desk, wireless key board and mouse seems flimsy.

  Overall Evaluation: Overall the unit is satisfactory, I was surprised how large the unit was when I placed it on my desk. The mouse and keyboard could have been made more sturdy.
