  Overall Evaluation: I'd complain about the price, but while expensive, the amount paid in line with the product performance. I put the Extreme IV 8GB card to work in a Nikon D3 writing full FX RAW NEF files. Each burst to fill the memory buffer was at 9fps. I held the shutter release until the buffer filled. Here were the results: Extreme IV 8GB: 8 seconds to empty buffer Extreme III 1GB: 14 seconds to empty buffer Ultra II 2GB: 21 seconds to empty buffer For fun, I tested an old unrated 512 MB Microtek card and a 12x Lexar Professional card. They were both up around 1min 20sec. Read speeds were throttled by the computer, and not the cards. All three of the SanDisk cards took 54 seconds to dump 15 24MB RAW files through a USB2 CF reader. (I did not test the older cards on this round.) The capacity is as expected, and the warranty is something I hope to never have to use during the life of the card. The RescuePro software is outstanding. If you have ever formatted a card just as you realized it was full of new shots, this software is for you. It can find images and partial images on any memory card. I have used it to bail out friends in the past, and it has lived up to the "Rescue" part of the name. I would not hesitate to buy the Extreme IV 8GB again over any other card.

  Strengths: * Seemingly unending capacity to take shots* There is significantly less lag time inbetween shots when compared to the SanDisk UltraII 2Gig CF card

  Weaknesses:* From what I have experienced, I cannot find any weaknesses. * My only thought would be does the card really have the read/write speeds indicated in the specs?

  Overall Evaluation: I bought two of these cards and use them in my Canon digital Rebel XT. I think it is my camera that is the bottleneck now in terms of lag time in-between shots. Even though it is a nice camera, it is the entry level SLR that Canon offers. I believe that with a more advanced camera, this card's full read/write speed capabilities would stand out more. As far size goes, I set my camera to the highest jpg resolution (One notch below RAW format). I frequently used to run out of space at the worst times with my 2Gig card. With two 8Gig cards, I don't think I will have to worry about running out of space in one trip again with this camera (although knowing that I have such capacity makes me shoot more frivolously). If you can afford them, I would highly recommend purchasing this product. As time goes by and as newer, even higher capacity cards come out, I'm sure the price will drop and become more affordable... One last thing: Beware places like eBay and unknown, unreviewed etailers. From the research I did, I found out that there are a lot of fake knock offs that don't work. I would recommend paying more from a respected reseller and have peace of mind that you purchased a genuine product, than to save $10 and get something with no serial number, fake label, breaks after a few uses or isn't compatible at all with your device.

  Overall Evaluation: Most cameras write speeds will be the limitation with this card. Modern DSLRs will be able to benefit from these improved write speeds. At 266x or 40 MB/Sec it writes noticeably faster than the 50x I was using (much faster). Another great benefit is downloading pictures to my computer (takes about a quarter of the time using USB 2.0 card reader). Included with the card is data recovery software for recovering photos that have accidentally been erased. I have used this software in the past and it can be a big lifesaver!

  Overall Evaluation: Received this extreme card in the mail. A really fast card indeed. Price is a problem. No 30-day satisfaction guarantee for a product that is $200 but manufacture cost of what? $30?
