Brother IntelliFax 4100E Plain Paper Laser Fax/Copier

Laser fax with 8MB memory can store up to 500 pages for out-of-paper reception or fax broadcasting to up to 182 separate locations. Dual access capability and Quick Scan let you scan faxes into memory as fast as two seconds per page while the unit is sending or receiving. 33.6Kps modem transmits a page in three seconds. IntelliFax 4100E offers 30-page auto document feeder, 250-sheet standard paper capacity, 182 fax broadcast locations and 132 auto dial locations combine with a high monthly duty cycle and high-yield consumables to handle demanding business applications. An optional second 250-sheet lower paper tray is sold separately for handling higher volume applications, or for loading different paper sizes simultaneously. Fax generates up to 15 copies per minute with up to 600 x 600 dpi. Caller ID/Distinctive Ring Ready. Standard interface includes USB and Parallel.

  Overall Evaluation: I've had this particular fax machine for almost three years. No problems at all! I never thought that brother made such reliable equipment. It's probably printed 100,000 pages at least by now and going strong. Great investment.

  Overall Evaluation: We have only had the fax for 3 weeks or so. But, it was easy to set up and get going. Our staff reports that it is much faster in scanning the fax document than our previous machine. No negatives or problems reported.

  Strengths: Reliable, relatively inexpensive replacement toner cartridges and good quality print, few paper jams, easy to setup.

  Overall Evaluation: The brother 4100e IntelliFax Laser Plain-Paper Fax machine is built in good quality, mainly for heavy duty applications. This machine is very reliable. The toner cartridge is relatively inexpensive compare to HP's. The 8MB memory stores up to 500 pages for out-of-paper reception or memory transmission. This is not a stand alone fax machine. You can hook it up with your PC so you can send fax via PC or use it as a printer. You can use it to copy documents as well (Not for book chapters!).

  Weaknesses:Heavy, toner, difficult to remove the paper while jam

  Overall Evaluation: Great machine, fast connection, heavy duty. There is a phone on the side, so it is much easier to check the connection. Button is pretty clear, easy setting up. Big space tray to keep around 250 sheet. Fast printing.It will be better if they can figure out how to handle paper jam. It is difficult to handle paper jam, open the toner, pull out the paper carefully. If the paper got cut inside ?... you will spend more hour to clear up the jam.Heavy machine, need two people to handle this.
