Strengths: None
Weaknesses:does not work with a mac and a cannon I860 printer But! they do not say this on their website.
Overall Evaluation: When you got to the Belkin site it sends you to a page of MAC acessories. This page says it works with most common ink ject printers including Cannon. After three hours with tech support the very nice man said that MAC makes it hard to locate the printer drivers. He blames the Mac and says it is hard to work with. I respectfully told him that this was not my or Mac problem. If they want to sell a product that works with Macs they can't say it hard to work with Macs.

Strengths: Speed is Wireless GSetup time is reasonable
Weaknesses:Printer compatibility is limit.Doesn't support multifunction printer functions.
Overall Evaluation: The wireless print server is relatively easy to set up similarly as other print servers. Once setup correctly,it works great. Wireless G provide wide coverage and faster speed compared to wireless B. The downside is that it doesn't support multifunction printer features such as faxing or copying. And the support printer models are limited.

Strengths: none
Weaknesses:Limited number of printers can be used with the print server
Overall Evaluation: I do not if this server is good or not, because I cannot connect it to my Lexmark X125 or HP 7660 printers. I tried everything but had no luck. I guess I will be returning it and see if I can get another brand of print server.

Strengths: Quick response time to printer
Weaknesses:No WPA-PSK security options, a little tricky to setup
Overall Evaluation: It took more time than anticipated to install this server. I have Belkin's Wireless-G router, and that also took some time to setup with my DSL and about an hour's time on the phone w/ their tech support. This product, however, I didn't need to call on.I have an HP Laserjet 1012 that I wanted my tower and laptop to have access to. I installed the printer drivers on both machines, and ran the setup utility on both as well. With the server hooked up properly to the printer via USB, neither machine could detect the server, even with my router security active or disabled. They tell you if this happens, to hook the supplied Ethernet cable up from the server to your router. This my machines liked, but then the utility tells you to DISCONNECT the cable before continuing. After doing that, it still couldn't find the server on the wireless band. Re-powering, reconnecting, nothing worked, so after 90 minutes I took a break.Later that night I reconnected the Ethernet cable, powered the server on, then turned my machines on. For whatever reason, it decided to detect my printer and work properly. So at present, my wireless print server is working, thanks to an ethernet connection to my router. On the web configurator, it implies that the Wireless capability is "disabled". My wireless laptop and desktop can, however, print off of it through my G router. Maybe one day I'll be brave and unhook the ethernet cable to see if it can still detect. For what it's worth, searching support on Belkin's site reveals a new Setup Utility Wizard to download, dated 2/12/2004 I believe.

Strengths: Easy to setup with encryption disabled (default option). Cheaper than other print servers
Weaknesses:Does not work with WPA-PSK and hence can only be used with unsecured wireless networks (with Windows XP + SP-2).
Overall Evaluation: Good only for basic wireless printer server functions. It is completely incompatible with WPA-PSK, which is the standard encryption protocol with Windows XP SP-2.The telephone support is very friendly and polite - but their engineers either don't understand WPA-PSK incompatibilty or are lying.I will not advise anyone to buy it, unless they are happy to -1. Run unsecured networks on Window XP SP-2 or2. Run Windows XP with no SP-2 and use WEP encryption (which is easily cracked by hackers)!
