  Duration of ownership: 70 Days

  Strengths: Cheap. Easy to install. Good for most desktop publishing needs.

  Weaknesses:Not compatible with Windows Vista. Not that user friendly and professional.

  Overall Evaluation: I noticed that the program only supports Windows 98/Me/2000/XP as per software company 's system requirements. I have tried the patch from the software company website, but it didn't work. The part that I liked from this program is Logo Creator, though it needs improvements. The Print Shop Pro part isn't that professional, though I was able to create some basic calendars, invitation cards. (Greeting card designs and most project designs temp plates were limited, unless you buy more on line). I found this software is useful for beginners, but quite incomplete for advance users.

  Weaknesses:Most images are online and must be downloaded from the internet

  Overall Evaluation: This is publishing software from Encore/Broderbund software. It comes with images, templates, and fonts, among other things. It is several years old - I found mine on clearance at Staples for FAR. Because it was so cheap, I decided to try it. It is easy to install, works with Windows 2000 and XP, and there is a patch available on the support website for Vista. I was surprised at the robustness of the product - it has a lot of publishing artifacts and is pretty easy to use. It does require an internet connection to download many of the images, and this can take a while depending on what you need to access. Still, I am happy with it so far and I would recommend it to others, but be sure to get a good price for it.

  Weaknesses:No live tech support, even though you think you have installed the WHOLE program it still askes for the CD, you need a fast internet connection as the program is always downloading something,

  Overall Evaluation: This is a upgrade from the PrintShop 15 that I have used for years but I will use the term "upgrade" loosely. The program has allot of potential but first of all if you bought this at a retail store like I did (Staples) your support is NOT from Broderbund but from ENCORE with only web support available. This is tough going as the website is annoying. The PrintShop program is always downloading graphics that are WEB ONLY, thats OK but every time you want that set of graphics they have to downloaded. It would be better if it was a one time download and the next time the graphics would be on your hard drive. If you have a slow internet connection this can be time consuming. The layout of the main screen is confusing when you decide to view a web graphic and then decide you dont like it there is no easy way to get to your last screen. In the version 15 there was a "preview" option for clipart/pictures so you cold just view but version 22 that option is left out. I opted to install the whole program on the HD but the program still asks for the install disk to locate clip art or other features. This is a pain so keep your install disk handy. It is nice the Calendar Creator is included, there is a ton of art to chose from, you can get a free year of the Million Image Club (there is a link included) but all in all Broderbund could have done more/better with this Version 22. Full retail is $100 but dont pay that as there are better deals.

  Strengths: Easy to load, contains more projects than one would expect

  Weaknesses:Most of the templates, graphics, and artwork are available online. To get the most out of the product you must have internet access.

  Overall Evaluation: This was an upgrade for me from the Print Shop Ensemble III. Upgrade does not describe the difference between the two. Even though I only had it for a couple of days, I have already used it to create 2 newsletters. It is very easy to use and has pop up tip screens to guide you through your project. I have also edited some photographs and downloaded to my cell phone as wallpaper. I haven't had enough time to download the iPod templates from the website, but am looking forward to creating customizable skins for my nieces iPod's. I can not believe everything this software is capable of, everything from simple signs to complex photo editing and touch ups. I'm sure I'll get my money's worth with everything I will be able to use this software for at home and for work.
