With the Shared Storage II 1TB drive, you can easily access files including digital video, music, and photos from any networked PC or Mac for enhanced productivity, seamless workflow, and easy file sharing and printing. With 1TB of memory you can store 768,000 photos, 72 hours of DV video, or 16,600 hours of music. The Shared Storage II has automatic back up and automatic data monitoring with RAID 1, which automatically mirrors a copy of up to 500GB of your data for an extra level of security. You can even set privacy levels with password protection, allowing for public access and limited access folders for an extra measure of security.

Duration of ownership: 20 Days

Strengths: Compact, Quiet, Fast

Weaknesses:Cost is a bit high

Overall Evaluation: This back-up drive is everything we thought it would be for overall office back-up use. The software is well designed for both the Mac OSX and XP. It is easily shared over our network for both platforms and seems to run smoothly while transferring the files at a high speed. The scheduling software alone makes this product a worthwhile consideration for your back-up purposes.
