Strengths: Both PowerPoint Presenter and Mouse; works on other presentation programs besides PowerPoint; has a laser pointer; allows you to roam around while giving a presentation
Weaknesses:None
Overall Evaluation: I actually bought this way back when it first came out for $60 and I don't regret spending that much. I am a teacher, so it's nice to stand in front of my projector's screen while giving a PowerPoint instead of having to go back and forth to my computer and the screen. It has great wireless reception and it works on other programs besides PowerPoint! It works on OpenOffice.org Presentations, and also a computer textbook program that came with our textbooks. It is a great buy and I highly recommend buying this. If you are worried about the price, other brands work good too! Also, it has a GREAT laser pointer!

Duration of ownership: 3 Days
Strengths: on paper (laser pointer, timer, mouse and remote control)
Weaknesses:the laser pointer was the only thing that worked and absolutely no helpful information in the documentation
Overall Evaluation: I was traveling overseas to make a "microsoft power point presentation" to a customer and did not have someone to man the computer for me so I thought this would be a great solution. It totally crashed my computer and it took me hours to recover. YOU DON'T WANT TO USE THIS JUNK because it does not work and the Microsoft documentation offers absolutely no help and no support. On my return instead of sympathy, my IT support group was actually upset with me for trying to install this junk on their system.

Strengths: Timer, bright laser pointer, nice case
Weaknesses:can't program more than one warning; no "F5" presentation-start button, range a little less than advertised.
Overall Evaluation: This device has worked fine for me, and I've been playing with it all day. I've had a little trouble with range, but only in extreme cases. The advertised range is a little excessive to begin with. You just plug the USB part in, sync it with the device, and you're ready to go. The instructions aren't particularly insightful, but they have the necessary info.happy with the product so far.

Strengths: laser pointer
Weaknesses:everything else
Overall Evaluation: This device quite simply didn't work at all in any mode with my XP Pro laptop. I have had no other hardware difficulties with this machine, but the only thing the presenter 300 did was function as a laser pointer.Although the machine recognized it as a USB mouse and reported it to be working it did not function under windows in general or in powerpoint in either presenter or mouse mode. The documentation that comes with it is totally devoid of any kind of help as is Microsoft's web pages related to it.What a piece of crap. Even if it is actually broken, which I doubt, Microsoft sucks quite badly just for the total lack of information shipped with it. This product is truly terrible, do not waste your time.

Strengths: None
Weaknesses:The entire hardware is one, large, weakness.
Overall Evaluation: This is the most cheaply constructed, price-inflated bit of kit I've ever had the displeasure of buying. In order to turn the laser pointer on, you must slap it, hard. Then, it stays on until the button to turn it on is pressed, when it goes off. The laser pointer is always slightly on--draining battery life. Further, it doesn't actually work In PCs--with Vista or earlier Windows platforms--and nor with Macintosh either. This is further evidence of 'Walmartization'--cheap, shoddy products, mass-produced with low quality ensurance, turned out for cents, and sold at around $40. Thanks Bill. Another great rip off from your hegemony. Don't buy this, unless you want to waste your money. it's cheaper than an 80s digital watch, and less reliable. I'm surprised, frankly, that it doesn't rattle. Microsoft--so bent on globval domination and corporate dominance, they've lost touch with their end-product and end-user. Do yourself a favor. Buy a Mac!
