    Duration of ownership: 6 Months

    Strengths: compact

Weaknesses:need newest windows mobile software for best performance, very weak speaker, very short batt life, must purchase interent and hotspots to get interent (29.99/month), slow processor/limited memory.

Overall Evaluation: 29.99 for internet you'll have to cancel your internet at home... don't buy because it devalues to 1/4th original cost when you walk off the lot. Very little customer support for technical issues with email set up. T-mobile blames your email provider and email providers blame T-mobile... meanwhile your stuck with a horrible phone that won't function and no one to help you.

    Duration of ownership: 7 Months

Strengths: Great display, very solid feel, mostly great software

Weaknesses:Sync to Outlook can be a BIG problemBattery cover tends to fall out when pulling phone from holster

Overall Evaluation: On the whole a great phone but has two serious flaws, one of which is intrinsic to all DASH phones: - Calendar will not sync correctly to Outlook if you live in Arizona. This is a known issue and there is no work around (a patch was released but does not work, and now T-Mobile seem to have given up). For me, living in Arizona and not being able to take my calendar with me is a show stopper. I can't live with this problem! - Often when you hit "answer" the phone hangs-up right away. This may be just my phone, but T-Mobile diagnosed it to the volume strip being hit as you hit answer. Their solution - disable the volume strip. Great, but how do I now change volume....? Other than this, it is a fine phone! WiFi works flawlessly, and web-browsing is as good as you can get on a small screen.

    Duration of ownership: 45 Days

Strengths: Plenty of features, Reasonably priced, Sleek, & Solid

Weaknesses:Slow processor, Lack of battery life

Overall Evaluation: First, don't be fooled by the picture. The actual unit is as sleek as you can imagine which is perfect for a QWERTY unit. The quad-band-wifi-bluetooth-gprs-edge functionality will satisfy all your pre-3G communication need. WM5 SME is still immature and less polished comparing to other phone OS. There are plenty of missing features, fine tunes and improvement need to be made by adding 3rd party softwares or modifying Windows Mobile registry and system files. So expect you have to do some dirty works to fully customize your Dash to your need and be prepared (means fully backup regularly) to "hard reset or cold boot" your unit from time to time like we did for other Windows OS. In the end, I wish Dash has a bit more computing juice (400M instead of 201M, which was tuned down to 180M in actual use), and a larger battery pack (1800+mAh comparing to current 960mAh).

Strengths: phone size, windows smarth phone ,wifi, bluetooth, applications, great battery life

Weaknesses:no touch screen, no standard earphone socket, volume slide bar

Overall Evaluation: I love the form factor of this phone. Its light and compact. It has bright crisp screen. It also has all the features which a 2007 mobile phone should have. It has bluetooth , WI-FI , Micro SD slot for expanded memory space. I don't like the fact that it does not have the touch screen and because of my 3 years of habit of using Sony Clie NX 80, it sometimes annoys me.But I was knowing it does not have touch screen before I bought it. Overall I love my TMobile Dash and I will definitely recommend it for some one who is searching for replacement of their blackberry or treos

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Wifi, slim, nice to hold in hand

Weaknesses:volume strip too sensitive, no alphanumeric dialling helper (e.g. difficult to translate 800.abc.defg to number.

Overall Evaluation: Got this for $50 from tmobile. Love it !! some things were not right out of box 1) volume strip was too sensitive.. so when talking to someone, it would reduce the volume to zero.. !! had to disable it 2) default ring volume was too low.. however later found out that I can edit the 'normal' profile to increase the ring volume. Works great after that. Another problem i faced was dialing when the alphabets are used in number as memory aids. Fixed that by replacing BrandingBrick.gif by an image which has mappings of alphabets and numbers. Now instead of tmobile logo it displays the mapping which helps in dialing the number. Otherwise a great phone !!
