    Duration of ownership: 2 Days

    Strengths: Cheap Easy to understand and use

    Weaknesses:- Volatile memory - info vanishes when unplugged. - Covers second outlet of 2-outlet plate - Hard to read in dim light - need flashlight - Unusable if you can't access during use, such as behind a refrigerator, washer, or computer setup.

    Overall Evaluation: If you are willing to compromise a bit on convenience, this can give you good, valuable information. For example, I found that my stereo consumes 18W when OFF, and over 70W when ON, even when not playing music! But that playing music does not add that much to power consumption. My dryer is pretty hungry. But using it with my frig means pulling my frig out twice and getting in behind it - once to plug in, and once more to read the meter.

    Duration of ownership: 4 Weeks

    Strengths: Simple,easy to use. Useful data.Very portable.

    Weaknesses:Display doesn't light and may be difficult to see depending on location. May need to plug into an extension cord to check certain appliances such as a refrigerator.

    Overall Evaluation: It might be worth buying the more expensive model to get the additional features available.I'd also like to see a model capable of reading 240 volts as well as 120 volts to check such devices as electric dryer.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Very easy to use and gives many different measurements.

    Weaknesses:None

    Overall Evaluation: I found this device handy when I wanted to see how much electricity my electronics were using when turned off. I was surprised to see my stereo was using 30W when turned on and 15W turned off! You'll be shocked at how much money your wasting even when all you devices in your house are turned off.

    Strengths: no batteries used.

    Weaknesses:Should have came with very short extension cord

    Overall Evaluation: Very nice self-contained unit. Big enough readout. Does all as advertised! To make it easier to use, I attach 3 foot long extension cord (3 prong) to receptacle if it is low to view easily.

    Strengths: Easy to use, seems to give reliable results, great to know how much you're really wasting.

    Weaknesses:A bit bulky (covers up 2 outlets)

    Overall Evaluation: The Kill-A-Watt has been a great product. I've been using it for several months and have gotten to know how much my products are really costing me. It's great to know whether or not I can leave things plugged in (if they use just 1-2 watts) and that I should probably unplug something overnight that'll use 20 watts or so. The only problem with it is that it covers up 2 outlets at once when using it so it's a little bit bulky. Overall, a great product!
