Strengths: Great picture quality, easy set up, Crossfire capable

    Weaknesses:none so far

Overall Evaluation: It's a great card with great performance if you don't mind paying over $300 for it. Anyways, I highly recommend this card to those who wants to build a game box for themselves. It is just awesome with my windows vista based PC. Be aware that this card requires at least 450 watts of power. ATI said that it supports dual monitors with 2 dvi outs, I have yet tried, will update more later.

Strengths: Fast 3D for fair price. Crossfire capable.

Weaknesses:Fan runs loud. Slightly power hungry.

Overall Evaluation: Radeon X1950 Pro is probably one of the best DirectX 9 video card that can be purchased for under $200. The performance of this video card is probably not as fast as the XT or XTX versions of the Radeon video cards, but it still offer stunning 3D speed for fairly good price. The video card itself is Crossfire capable, unlike previously where a "master" card is required, to run in Crossfire mode with X1950 Pro, just get two of the same card and connect the Crossfire bridge and done. The S-Video output of X1950 Pro seems to be slightly sharper than that of Geforce 6200, but it might be of user preference. The fan probably runs louder than most of the fans available in the system when the video card is doing some 3D intense applications. Therefore, it is not really for use in a quiet environment. The video card is not as power hungry as the XTX counterparts, but it is still slightly power hungry as it does not run without certain required power ratings and amperage. So investment in a better power supply might be required for running this video card. Overall, the video card offers great performance at the price it offers. And its features are not any less than those most expensive video cards. The only thing that needs to be careful of when running the video card is the power rating and amperage from the power supply. If power rating and amperage is not up to the requirement, power supply might be in danger of being fried as the video card is trying to draw more than the power supply can offer. The loud fan issue, as some users on the Internet have suggested, purchase some after market cooling heatsinks and fans, and problem is easily taken care of. But only use heatsinks and fans specified for this particular video card, otherwise, burnout of the card might occur.

    Duration of ownership: 7 Weeks

Strengths: Fast, easy to install and very robust.

Weaknesses:After owning and using this card for the last 7 weeks I have found none.

Overall Evaluation: I have been a PC user for the last 20 years and have used many manufacturers video cards. For the last 8 years I have been an avid use of ATI products and the X1950 Pro keeps the streak going. Although I still play games I'm not a big gamer any longer. My interests are now into multimedia particularly video and this card does a wonderful job in producing and rendering video. Whether you're a gamer or into multimedia or just need a good reliable video card that delivers more than than the standard this is a great place to start.

    Duration of ownership: 1 Months

Strengths: Good image quality, Fast card without overclocking, single slot design, quiet cooling, VIVO

Weaknesses:A little long for some cases, doesn't overclock well.

Overall Evaluation: This ATI reference version of the x1950pro is a good card for anyone who wants very good performance in games and graphics right out of the box. Without overclocking, this card can beat it's nearest competitors that have similar out of the box specifications. Those being the Nvidia Geforce 7900GT and 7950GT. There is also a price advantage for this card over those other two.The cards long design allows the heat sink to cover all of the boards heat sensitive components. So, the memory is cooled, as well the graphics processor. This design is also quiet. When the fan does turn up it's speed it's still pretty quiet and not at a sound level you could hear above the sound in any game. Speaking of the long design, it's longer, not thicker, so it doesn't cover the card slot next to it. My Dell Dimension 8400 and XPS 410 had no trouble accomodating this length. If Video In, Video Out, (VIVO) is important to you, the Radeon has it and comes with all of the cables you'd need to get video in or out of your computer. So to sum up, provides good image quality, good frame rate in games, it's quiet and slim, has VIVO and costs less than the 7900GT/7950GT from Nvidia. But...This card does not overclock well. Using ATI's own overclocking utility is useless. ATI Tray Tool offers a little more success but still don't even bother overclocking the memory. Now, that's not an issue for me. I don't like overclocking, myself. It means more heat and more noise. I have Dell systems because I don't overclock pc components either. If I was an overclocker I definitely would not buy this card. All that being said, even locked at it's current clock speed, this card offers the best price performance in the mid-high performance cards.
