    Duration of ownership: 7 Months

    Strengths: Cheap

Weaknesses:Works like you'd expect a cheap device to work, not well at all.

Overall Evaluation: I'm one of the top people in my part of the country for engineering digital wireless installations, including wireless WAN's and cellular equipment. I installed this unit with better vertical separation than specified, and living nearly under the cell tower, I get nothing at more than ten feet away from the unit. The first unit failed after two months, the replacement was defective, the next replacement lasted two months before it died. Their customer service people are helpful in getting replacement parts but are technically incompetent, asserting that you can boost the coverage of a digital signal inside the house by putting a stronger attenna outside the house when the house is within 100 yards of a cellular tower with a 2-mile range, and that the FCC will be angry with them for overloading the cellular tower putting a stronger transponder amplifier to serve the signal inside the house (not the signal that actually goes back to the tower). The only way this could be true would be if they made the VERY bad design decision to use a single signal amplifier that facilitated both inbound and outbound traffic, so either they're idiots or their designers are idiots. Buy some other brand, and make sure that the transmission radius from the repeater source is sufficient to cover your home, office, or whatever area you're working in. This is NOT an item to price-shop, because you will be lucky if you even get as much as you pay for. Range-wise, this unit might be okay for a cube in a cube farm, but not for home use, and it's quality, at least in my case, is highly questionable.

    Duration of ownership: 5

Strengths: Made both cellphones perform excellent in my remote cabin

Weaknesses:I had to upgrade my external antenna for my sprint pcs aircard

Overall Evaluation: In my remote cabin on the shores of a lake in Oregon I had to hold my AT&T cell phone against a south facing window to get a signal. After installing the YX510 it gave me the maximum signal strength anywhere in my cabin. Using my Sprint aircard was more problematic. The external antenna worked great on clear days but when the weather gets stormy my signal reverts to the slower non-EVDO rev A speed. The fix was to install the upgraded dual outdoor antenna system with high gain antennas. I have since completely dropped the antiquated, low quality, high priced land line service and gone with just cell phones. I am also using the XLINK CELLULAR BLUETOOTH® GATEWAY so I can utilize my 5.8 Ghz cordless phone system through my cell connection. Everything works perfectly and my call quality has improved significantly. My cabin has foil lined insulation so the structure became an effective ferrite cage, not allowing radio or cell signals inside. The YX510 solved that problem, I recommend it highly.

Strengths: indoor/outdoor antenas (optional), dual band

    Weaknesses:no Nextel support

Overall Evaluation: If you were looking to boos cell phone signal in the weak signal areas this is the product that you were looking for. It is unique, great concept and simple to install; signal gets boosted significantly

    Strengths: Simple install.

    Weaknesses:None

Overall Evaluation: I work in a metal building and have no signal at all with my AT&T cellphone. I had been using an external antenna but was limited to where I could use my phone by the length of the cord. After purchasing the unit, it took all of 15 minutes to install and worked perfect when I powered the unit up. Phone clarity is perfect, I went from zero bars to a full five bars signal strength. I intend to buy another for my home.

Strengths: Simple setup, relatively easy to use. Plug n go.

Weaknesses:Distrubution of repeated signal not that great, but comparable to other consumer products.

Overall Evaluation: Installed antenna in attic and ran cable through existing wall outlet. Phones may not show strong signal strength initially, but once call is sent, bars appear and call quality significantly improved. I live in a cell weakzone and can get maybe 1-2 bars in the house. Now I can place & receive calls and have 3-4 bars. These products DO NOT give a signal if the outside cell signal is too weak or non-existent.
