    Duration of ownership: 1 Years

Strengths: Very good call quality, both landline & Skype; LOUD earpiece and speakerphone volume

Weaknesses:Occasional crashes; no lighted keypad; can't wake from standby without executing function

Overall Evaluation: Have had the phone for about a year. Unlike earlier reviewers, there was little or no problem setting up the phone. It inherited my existing Skype contacts without problems. The DECT 6.0 works a lot better in my house than my 5.8 GHz phone. Sometimes the phone goes off into never-never land, where it loses track of its charge state, Skype status, etc. Landline continues to work, however. The only (but simple) recovery is to remove the batteries for a couple seconds. After restart, it reports the batteries are discharged, even though the phone was in the charger the whole time. Physically, the phone is comfortable to hold and use. Its earpiece and speakerphone volume is very loud, and I typically can keep it on its lowest setting unless background noise is high. Feature-wise, the phone seems crude compared to a typical Uniden, Panasonic, Siemens, etc, but in this respect it is comparable to other, non-Skype GE phones. As with most wireless phones, the display blanks (for sleep mode) when it's idle, and wakes when a button is pressed. Irritatingly, however, that waking button press isn't ignored function-wise. So if you press the 'Menu' button to wake the phone, it wakes in menu mode and you have to hit the 'Back' button to reach the idle state. In summary, this phone is a decently executed and usable integrated landline/Skype phone, though it lacks the features and clean execution of higher-end, non-Skype wireless phones. I'd recommend it, if you want both features in one phone, and can put up with its relatively minor idiosyncrasies.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Months

Strengths: Would be nice if it worked.

    Weaknesses:Everything.

Overall Evaluation: JUNK! Waste of $120. Can not make Skype out calls (unless you dial with your computer). Randomly disconnects from computer and you have to reboot PC to get it to reestablish connection with PC. Sound quality is poor to fair. Poor documentation. I think I will throw in the garbage and buy a V-Tech.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: none

    Weaknesses:does not work no support

Overall Evaluation: As a computer technician I have installed the software and set everything up and my phone says I am connected to skype (all though it can not read my contacts, I am told you have to manually enter them). I can not call out or receive calls even though it says I am on line and I am able to do it from the computer. I have been on line with support for over 4 hours now. Each time getting transferred to a new person, now I have the supervisor on the phone who like the last 8 people have no idea what skype is or have ever used it. Like the last 8 people he is reading the troubleshooting tips out of the manual and wants to know if the phone is powered on and is my computer powered on. The last technician was unaware this product comes with a cd or any type of software and the phone still does not work so back it goes, no one should have to go through this.
