Strengths: Generally, easy to set up and use. Relatively quiet operation compared to my Harmon Kardon changer.Very good sound and dynamic range for the price.
Weaknesses:Labeling on remote could be larger. An easier way to set up repeating a selection on a disc, vrs. repeating an entire disc, vrs. repeating all discs, would be nice.
Overall Evaluation: This Onkyo is a relatively inexpensive CD changer with good build quality. The sound is very good, but not quite as musical as my six year old Harmon Kardon changer, that just broke. A piano sounded more harmonically correct on the Harmon Kardon. However, the Onkyo is quieter than the Harmon Kardon, has better dynamic range, and cost considerably less than the Harmon Kardon.

Strengths: Nice design, 6 discs, mp3 player, coax and optical digital
Weaknesses:No song text display for CD
Overall Evaluation: The Onkyo DX-C390 is a great CD player that can be found at an awesome price. You get a 6 disc player that can play a plethora of different media types including MP3 discs. The DX-C390 has many features that allow the user to browse through their CD library and play songs on a whim. The DX-C390 looks great and has a nice greenish-blue LCD panel that fits in well with newer audio equipment. The best part of the ONKYO DX-C390 is the sound. The optical digital and coax digital outputs provide easy connection to existing AVR's and give beautiful crystal clean sound. I am very impressed. For the cost, this unit far exceeds in value. Keep in mind, the ONKYO DX-C390 is not quite a five star but I would have given 4.5 stars if that option was available.

Strengths: Very easy to setup and use. Comes with everything you need, but highly recommend buying digital coax or optical cable for best sound quality. Can remove up to 5 disks while 1 is still playing.
Weaknesses:Technically no weaknesses, but component is big.
Overall Evaluation: Great unit with awesome sound quality and lots of features. Will play either audio CDs or MP3s on CD-R/RW. Can also play both 8 cm and 12 cm size discs. Heard Onkyo is dropping CD only players from their product line next year, so look for prices to drop soon.
