Strengths: I love how they decided to force their new interface down their customers' throats. I'm not capable of deciding what's convenient, so I'm glad Microsoft took the initiative to tell me what works best for me.

Weaknesses:Though the new interface is pretty and obstructive, it needs to have more sparkles and smooth things. It should make random noises, too. I also miss the talking paperclip. It was shiny. I LIKE SHINY!

Overall Evaluation: If you don't like to work, Office 2007 is a great way to waste several weeks of your company's time. I really hope Microsoft includes a function in Office 2010 that allows users to randomize the placement of menu options. What's more fun than having to guess where something is, especially when you need to complete a job quickly?

Strengths: New interface, Office 2007 Ribbon, includes OneNote unlike most other editions, includes Word, Excel, Powerpoint and OneNote 2007, costs cheap, specially designed for students and home use.

Weaknesses:Not as feature heavy as other edition of Office 2007.

Overall Evaluation: Office 2007 is a really great new product and Microsoft has outdone themselves this time. I really like the new interface and the Office "Ribbon" makes thing so much easier. A great improvement to an already great product - Google and OpenOffice have nothing on this great little package.

Strengths: Compatibility with software at school.

Weaknesses:Compatibility with 2003 and earlier versions.

Overall Evaluation: After years of using office 2003, moving to 2007 is quite an experience. Major changes were made to the basic layout of the home pages. The idea was to make things easier, but I'm not totally convinced that this is a good thing. Time will tell of this truly is an improvement in the ease of functionality.

Strengths: Ease of access to all formatting / editing functions for the document easily accessed with the tabular setup.

Weaknesses:Learning curve to find out how to formatNew format for saving - possible incompatibility issues with older versions

Overall Evaluation: For the price I'm very happy with the product. Nice to have the 'latest and greatest' in a product to ensure having all of the features needed when creating a document, spreadsheet, or slideshow. It's just a matter of getting used to it and mastering the new interface.

Strengths: Faster & leaner than Office 2003.

    Weaknesses:None yet.

Overall Evaluation: I was concerned beforehand about dealing with the new ribbon interface, but after 5 years with Office 2003, I had no difficulty adjusting to the changes. Anything not readily apparent from working with the software was easily addressed by using the help function. I actually prefer the new interface to the old one.
