Strengths: Most of the functions are intuitive and can be done by remote control
Weaknesses:not ready for receiving direct antenna digital signals; needs special converter available with government rebate.
Overall Evaluation: It is overall an excellent product in view of the moderate price; it is very reliable and very easy to install, connect to the hdtv and start recording on dvd or vcr; moreover it can play pal-dvds and sound cds, which is not the case for more expensive dvd-vcr recorder combos. I highly recommend it in lieu of well-established brands.

Overall Evaluation: We purchased this product to replace the same model we have had for 3 years. The original product was zapped by lightning. Until then, we were very happy with this product. We looked at many newer models, but they did not measure up to the one we selected.

Strengths: Easy one touch transfers from VHS to DVD
Weaknesses:None yet
Overall Evaluation: Compatible with both DVD±R and DVD-R media. Easy copying from VHS to DVD or DVD to VHS. Has VCR Plus+ for ease of scheduling. On-Screen menus provide guide for setup and navigation. I found this unit very easy to both use and setup. Although I have not really beat the unit up, I have used it several times for transfer to DVD and have not had any problems. The DVDs are easily readable on other players.

Overall Evaluation: I've had this since Dec. 22 2006. I've been copying my old vcr tapes and have made about 30 dvd discs. Yesterday the machine refushed to "finalize" the disc. Today I cannot get it to "read" the disc that I want to copy to.I am returning it to the store I bought it from.
