    Strengths: GUI looks nice

Weaknesses:Can not back up large folders

Overall Evaluation: I got this Norton Save and Restore 2.0 3 weeks ago. I thought it is better than Microsoft OneCare but it really sucks. You don't need this kind of junk for backup. You can use Window Accessory/Backup for the backup.I first used this Norton software for a full drive backup. I always got the error E4BC0012: database is locked. I then tried to use this software for one file backup. It works fine and no error. Then I extended it to backup one small folder, and it works fine and no error. When I used it to backup a large folder, it failed with the the E4BC0012 error. Then I chatted with Symantec technical support, and was told to delete the catalog file every time I saw this error before doing any new backup. The support person is very nice, and waited with me online and finally her aproach approved OK for a medium-size folder. When I extended her approach to another medium-size folder, the software led to the same E4BC0012 error again. I have to delete the catalog file, and tried the backup again. After a couple of iterations, the backup for that medium-size folder finally went through.I am just wondering who will want this kind of backup software. Just a junk. I never had any problem with WindowXP Backup. Why spend time (forget spending money) with some software to backup my files but not sure it will work or not !!! a piece of junk !

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Easy to install. Save and backup easily. Cheap after rebate.

    Weaknesses:Annoying daily backup scheduling

Overall Evaluation: The installation of NSR2.0 is fast and easy. The software allows backing up and restoring of data very conveniently. It's really cheap or sometimes free after rebates. Doesn't seem to take up as much resource as most other Norton program does, but the daily backup routine is very annoying.

    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Easy backup. Rebates.

    Weaknesses:None

Overall Evaluation: This is nice backup software. You can make a backup of the whole drive, folders, or selected file types (pictures, music, and etc). So, you actually need big storage space. It is very simple to operate, and there was no problem at installation in Windows XP. I bought this with mail-in rebates, so the final cost was only $3. The rebate came in within a month as prepaid Visa cards.

    Strengths: easy, cheap, powerful

    Weaknesses:none

Overall Evaluation: When I say 'easy', I mean it is easy to install, easy to backup everything you want. The backup process is easy and fast. You can backup all your data into a hard drive, CD-R, and flash drive. It is also very easy to restore your data. Another point, the software is very cheap if you would do the most reliable rebates from Symantec.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: Easy Installation, Easy to learn Interface, Comes with a bootable CD

Weaknesses:Price, Try to buy it with rebates

Overall Evaluation: It is a pretty decent piece of software from Norton with a user friendly interface. Backups are very easy to configure, I like the GUI. This is perfect backup software for people who are worried about their precious data. Try to buy it when rebates are available.
