Strengths: similar to god of war, easy to learn moves, entertaining for the 19.99 price tag
Weaknesses:Very linear, short game, AI is bad
Overall Evaluation: Ghost Rider was better than I expected it to be. It heavily borrows from god of war, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. The game is rather short and linear, but the cut scenes are pretty good. Throw in some cameo appearances from the series, and you have a decent beat ?em up for a low price tag.

Strengths: Strong combat build system, expands on the film, cameos by various Marvel characters, easy for beginners
Weaknesses:Generic beat-em-up action, weak graphics/story/audio, camera issues, dull enemy AI, short overall length
Overall Evaluation: Ghost Rider for PS2 makes most of the common movie-to-game translation errors in offering a generic game play experience with a few licensed characters thrown in. Yes, it's nice to see Ghost Rider in action on the small screen, but this game really should have been better than it is. Ghost Rider has a lot of special moves at his disposal in this 3D beat-em-up, but his generic enemies all suffer from the same dull AI to the point that it doesn't matter. The graphics lack polish and detail, and the camera frequently allows enemies to get in cheap shots from off-screen. Ghost Rider (the game) isn't terrible, but given the rich comic book source material, the developer certainly should have been able to make a better game than this. Definitely do not pay full price for this, and do not buy or rent it with unrealistic hopes. This Ghost Rider is just another generic beat-em-up.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: good graphics, especially the demons
Weaknesses:repetitive combat
Overall Evaluation: ?Ghost Rider? is a combination beat-?em-up and driving game for the PS/2. From the first five minutes of playing this game, you'll immediately see that it is an almost carbon copy of God of War in terms of the gameplay, with the exception of the Hellbike- riding sequences. Just like Kratos, you attack with your deadly chains and can unlock wicked combos to cause great damage against your enemies. Each demon you defeat releases souls that you can absorb and spend as currency to buy new moves or power up your current ones. The combat can get repetitive where you basically enter an area, beat up a few demons which must be defeated in order to progress to the next area. In between these fighting sequences are motorcycle riding stages where you ride your Hell bike through Hell?s highways while shooting and chain whipping the many demons in your way. I actually liked this part of the game and feel that it added some much needed variety to the same old ?pummel them till they die? game strategy. You will also later get to fight other Ghost Rider villains from the comic book. Thankfully, this game expands even further than the movie and include some of Ghost Rider?s main adversaries and their minions. I really recommend this game especially if your a big fan of the comic book.
