Strengths: decent tactical shooter, large maps
Weaknesses:co-op mission a little tough, bland colors due to the mostly desert setting
Overall Evaluation: I played GRAW1 on the PC and, although it was a good game, it was very hard and therefore was very frustrating to constantly replay the same portions over and over again. For Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 on the PS3, I found the difficulty to be just right. I could complete most missions with only a few retries and therefore the game flowed much better. GRAW takes place in the near future with slightly more sophisticated weapons that today's weapon. You are an American Special Forces soldier in Mexico trying to track down nukes during a coup attempt. The maps are fairly large and you feel that you have the freedom to approach the mission target from a lot of angles. The controls are simplified from my experience with the first game on the PC. You can give basic orders to team mates and it?s simple to do so.The maps are not very colorful given the desert terrain. In addition to the single player campaign, there is a co-op mission and multi-player. It was nice to try the co-op mission, but with just 2 soldiers (I played it locally with another person in the room), it seemed very challenging. This game can be found pretty cheaply and I think it?s worth it for under $20.

Strengths: Gameplay
Weaknesses:Rather short
Overall Evaluation: Among the multitude of shooter games, GRAW 2 stands out easily. It has great gameplay, excellent multiplayer mode and believable sound effects. However, graphics is only on-par. There is some frame rate issue at times but it is not terribly distracting. One disappointment is that the game is rather short, clocking about a dozen hours to finish in the single player mode. All in all, GRAW 2 is a great shooter game. It may not compare well to Call of Duty 4 but it's much cheaper and does have some great gameplay in itself. You should enjoy this game without problem.

Strengths: Gameplay
Weaknesses:More of the same
Overall Evaluation: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 is more or less very similar to the first, though that isnt necessarily a bad thing. The game plays very well, and the controls work very good for this first person shooter. The game also looks very nice, though there are some frame rate hiccups but it doesn't distract to much. Overall, the game is very good, and if you played the first, you should enjoy this as well.

Strengths: Some places sell this for $19.99 nowadays; good graphics; open gameplay allows for some creativity
Weaknesses:Some missions could get frustrating; very short game
Overall Evaluation: I'm not a huge fan of Tom Clancy games. When "Splinter Cell" (another Tom Clancy game) first came out for the original Xbox system, I was psyched. Then I played it. It wasn't bad, but I guess I was too hyped about it. Now, with a new console, I have another Tom Clancy game: "Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2", widely known succintly as "GRAW2". GRAW2 takes place in Mexico (civil war) and along the U.S. border, in the near future (the year 2014, if I remember correctly). I don't know how much of the technology currently exists versus what Tom Clancy envisions, but among some of the weaponry in the game are small vehicles called MULES that are like moving weapons caches and can be used for scouting, an aerial vehicle called the CYPHER which can provide you an overhead map with enemy locations, a gun that can shoot around corners, etc. You take direct control of Captain Scott Mitchell and can indirectly control a small squad by giving tactical commands. The graphics are good and definitely better than those of some other PS3 games I've played despite those games' coming out later. The gameplay allows you some freedom to complete the objective in different strategic ways. The enemy A.I. is not bad. The controls are good. The first few levels are pretty easy, but it does get difficult later, especially if you like to rush in with all guns blazing. Unfortunately, like many games these days, this game is also very short. There is a multiplayer component that can extend the game's life, but I don't play it. I wouldn't pay full price for this game, but I got it for $20. I can recommend it at that price. This game opened my eyes to Tom Clancy games again...now if only they could all be released at this budget price...

Strengths: Multiplayer and sound effects
Weaknesses:Graphics and short single gameplays
Overall Evaluation: I think this is a good game. It has a great multiplayer game and its sound effects are so real that you can feel that you are in the middle of a combat situation. However, it needs to be improved in a couple of areas. Firstly, its graphics is not a par with other shooter games. Secondly, its single play modes is a little short. Overall, however, it is a good game.
