Duration of ownership: 18 Months
Strengths: Easy compatibility, plug and play, fast speeds, and easy connection
Weaknesses:Do not try to get three of these and expect them to simultaneously work without a router!
Overall Evaluation: This product is great, absolutely wonderful. I installed a pair of these when I upgraded to cable broadband Internet. These two devices can transfer speed faster than what the ISP can give me! All around great product, except for when you buy another. Once you do that, you are going to need to buy a router to support multiple IP addresses. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this product over any wireless, hardwire, or powerline connectivity product. Definetly.

Strengths: Ease of setup
Weaknesses:Speed but I knew that going in and purchased based on price.
Overall Evaluation: The setup is perhaps a little to easy for someone with lots of network experience. After fighting with it, I wound up plugging it in and it just worked. Don't over think this product, it will work for you with no fuss. Normally I would tear into the house to install cat5 but I'm currently renting and don't have that option. This setup works great for my current situation.

Strengths: perfect solution for wire-free networking - better than having a wireless access point. More reliable, never loses connection, connects fast.
Weaknesses:None - I cant imagine it wud have any
Overall Evaluation: I wanted these primarily to watch movies on my lcd tv in the living room by connecting my laptop to it. I needed something that cud stream videos consistently and this was my only option considering the fact that i had to run a ethernet cable all the way through one floor. I purchased a refurb product which dint come with any manual or software....but i dint need 'em. I plugged in the source adapter near my router and plugged in my receiver adapter down in my living room and it worked instantly. Nice product...make sure your power wiring in the house is connected in the rooms you want the network to be available. My friend told me that I could use a continuity tester to test if the power network is indeed connected.

Strengths: Automatic rate adaption chooses the best data rate depending on the level of interference caused by other electrical appliances.Boasts Ethernet-like data rates of up to 14 Mbps.Works with 2 & 3 prong standard 110 volt electrical outlets
Weaknesses:
Overall Evaluation: I was surprised at how well the XE102's work, given that the circuit which the main computer's XE102 is plugged into has a ton of computer equipment plugged into it via a big Tripplite power conditioner/surge protector. Ditto for the XE102 in the living room, which is plugged into the same circuit that all my A/V equipment is plugged into.
