Strengths: plenty of features and a kid can use it. I don't even use the charger on short trips. You can run it off the battery.

Weaknesses:wish the map updates were free

Overall Evaluation: I liked it so much I bought one for everyone in the family. My daughter just moved out of town to college and loves it.

Strengths: Nice compact size...very, very small, Lightweight-5.2 ounces

Weaknesses:lacks the text-to-speech function. does not hold battery charge well.

Overall Evaluation: The Garmin Nuvi 200 is very easy to use and enter addresses into. This is important because if it wasn't simple to use my mom and dad would have a hard time getting anywhere and it would have been a waste of money. Getting a satellite signal outside or in the car has not taken longer then a few minutes even on overcast/cloudy days and calculating your route usually only take a few seconds. For one I wish you could enter a different starting location than where you currently are if only to plan ahead. Also, I would be nice if they included an AC adapter in the package instead of just a DC car charger. You will most likely not be leaving the device in your car so it would be nice to bring it in the home and charge. If you want to do this you will have to purchase the optional AC charger. The suction cup mount is nice but for me than only place it will stick to is my window and nowhere else. It will not stick anywhere to the dash or center console in my Durango.I am pleased and happy with the unit - Great Starter unit!

Strengths: This is a great entry level gps with no thrills but pretty precise directions.

Weaknesses:Units volume level is not that loud so when you open the windows with this unit it on it is hard to hear.

Overall Evaluation: I bought this unit for my wife, she swears by it. This unit provides a compact 3.5" lcd and voice prompts. This unit is surprising accurate for an entry level unit. I would say this is a great entry level GPS.

Strengths: Easy to use, Free '09 Map Upgrade, Points of Interest

Weaknesses:No TTS, ETA not always accurate, Odd best routes at times, Confusing directions sometimes

Overall Evaluation: This is my first GPS receiver and it gets the job done. Not really ever using a GPS before, I found it pretty easy to update and start using. Garmin provides a free upgrade to '09 maps. Points of Interest, where you can search for virtually any business such as restaurants, grocery stores, and hotels comes in really handy. The biggest thing lacking from this GPS is arguably the lack of talk to speech. Street names are not said by the voice. I've found that the ETA can sometimes not be right or slow to update. There are times where I've arrived a couple minutes to my destination before the ETA, yet it does not update to reflect. The route choices made are also sometimes questionable and not the way I would go. I haven't had any problems with inaccurate directions yet though. However, once when I was in Chicago downtown, it kept recalculating like every 10 seconds which was very annoying. The Garmin nuvi 200 is a nice entry GPS for those simply looking for something that can tell them how to get from one place to another.
