Strengths: This is absolutely the best picture I have EVER seen on a TV, bar none. An HD signal off of TWC, especially a live broadcast is stunning. Deep blacks, exceptional color. And this TV is bright too. With the bezel as thin as it is I was able to go up a size on screen size. Easy menu navigation and brief instruction prompts for each item. Lots of inputs round it out.
Weaknesses:Sound is a little iffy, though I dont ever use it. Tried it for a few days just to see if it worked. You'll want to hook up external sound anyway after you see the picture.
Overall Evaluation: Excellent HD tv for any price. Full 1080p. Once you see this you'll be happy with your purchase. Even an upconverted DVD looks great. I'm not much on "stretch" lower definition pictures but this one is watchable. Enjoy it!

Strengths: HD is great!
Weaknesses:SD Channels look good, but it might be my dish network
Overall Evaluation: I was not too sure about buying a DLP TV until I read reviews about the HL-T5087S. I was originally limiting myself between a Plasma and LCD, and could not make up my mind. All of the positive reviews about this TV are dead on accurate. This is an awesome TV. The picture is great, and in HD, it is simply amazing. Thanks Samsung!

Strengths: Full 1080p resolution, very slim design compared to other DLPs on the market, lots of connections, LED bulbs
Weaknesses:Speakers
Overall Evaluation: I've purchased several Samsung TVs and each one doesn't fail to exceed my expectations. This TV is great bargain for such a large screen and it also has the new LED bulb technology, which saves the headache of changing out the bulb every couple of years on conventional DLPs. The LED bulbs will almost never burn out and will most likely outlive the life of the TV. The LED bulbs also consume less power than the regular bulb DLPs, which will save you money on your electricity bill as well! This is one of the best DLP TVs out on the market! Has awesome 1080p picture. The picture is bright and crisp. Thin design at only 12.8" deep, so you can fit it in tight spaces unlike other DLPs. Plenty of connections that make hooking up different units very easy (i.e. DVD player, set-top box, gaming console). This also supports PC input so that you can use it as a computer monitor if you'd like! The only grudge I have with this TV are the speakers, they are actually not very good at all. The sound is distorted when you turn the volume up too high when watching movies. If you are a movie watcher, I'd definitely recommend setting this TV up with a home theater system for better sound. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. For the quality of the picture and the size of the screen, you won't find a better deal.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: good quality output after adjustment, slim depth, no unnecessary "frame" around the edge of the screen which keeps it from taking up more space than necessary. Audio is satisfactory.
Weaknesses:takes a few seconds to find a signal after turning it on, image quality on standard definition signals is adequate but could be better
Overall Evaluation: We enjoy the television tremendously. We are satisfied with the internal speakers, the output is satisfactory, and we like the efficient size. It produces less heat than the plasma it replaced and uses less energy which is one thing we appreciate about this television. The best feature is supposed to be the LED-based light-engine which is used in place of the standard bulb found on most rear-projections. It is unknown to us whether or not the LED-based bulb will actually last the life of the television, but if that is true, then it makes this television even more appealing by saving us the several hundred dollar cost associated with replacement bulbs.

Strengths: awesome picture, easy to set it up. Very recommneded!!
Weaknesses:none
Overall Evaluation: I've had my set for three days, and it has proven to be a very nice upgrade from my over-a-decade old 27" CRT. I had, at one point, considered getting a Sony SXRD, but decided on the Samsung for four main reasons: Price, standard definition performance (since we'll have to deal with SD sources for some time; the SXRD does quite poorly on SD sources, judging from a friend's set), the PC interface (SXRD doesn't support the full 1920x1080 resolution when taking input from a computer), and of course, the long life LED. The TV is beautiful, both in picture and cabinet. The thin bezel makes it look "all picture," compared to flat panels with their thick frames. Depth of the set is not a concern for me, since I will not wall mount the set. The transparent menus are attractive and fairly intuitive, though they could be more responsive. HD broadcasts received over a simple, cheap, indoor antenna look great. Other than the PC input (hooked up to one of the three HDMI ports with a DVI-HDMI cable; an RGB port is also included), it may be a long time before I ever feed it a 1080p source, as I'm not willing to jump on HD DVD or Blu Ray at their current prices and unclear future, but the content I have viewed (SD/HD broadcasts, Nintendo Wii, DVD) look fantastic.
