  Strengths: Good value, doesn't bog down PC, quick scans

  Weaknesses:Unknown detection quality, but no problems here yet

  Overall Evaluation: I got iolo AV & firewall as part of System Mech. Professional at Wal Mart for $35. Since I wanted System Mechanic, i figured it would save resources to use iolo's built-in AV & firewall. I've read mixed reviews about iolo's products, but in my experience I've had no problems at all. I do use a supplemental on-demand Spyware scanner (Spyware Doctor Free/Starter Edition) and I also use Kaspersky's online scanner once a week or so. Again, no problems.

  Strengths: Easy to install, updates frequently.

  Weaknesses:A bit slow.

  Overall Evaluation: It does the job. It provides all the features that you would expect in a good antivirus program. It is easy to install and works fine with my computer. The program does a real time scanning and virus definition updates frequently.

  Overall Evaluation: For most people this will be a perfectly acceptable antivirus software. Personally I have uninstalled it and have gone with a product that has a better detection rate. But with software more than anything else it comes don to personal choice.

  Overall Evaluation: First of all, this antivirus was very expensive, which misled me to believe it was good. I had the program a month, and it updated constantly, but that didn't stop me from getting a root kit! I was searching for a manual on google and when I clicked the link my Internet Explorer locked up. The antivirus popped up saying it detected a root kit, and I let it do its thing to block it. As soon as the virus scanner poppup went up, my computer auto-restarted, and when it booted up, there were dozens of new icons on my desktop, and my internet was almost completely hijacked. I had to format to fix it. I went back to my previous virus scanner after I re-installed Windows.

  Weaknesses:Expensive (without rebate) | Gobbles up System Resources, Slowing Computer

  Overall Evaluation: While Iolo is adequate to provide you protection from most viruses, and constant updates ensure that you will be up-to-date against new computer viral threats, I have to say that without a major reworking of the code, I'd avoid this software like the plague. While it does do its job, it does it at the cost of your computers resources. There are many better antivirus software suites out there, some of them even free, that do not abuse your resources like this. Unless this is ever ironed out by Iolo, I would avoid this and any future antivirus software from them without reading the reviews first. I must say that the visual interface of the program is really quite appealing, though if getting rid of that would solve the resource hog problem I'd gladly give it up.
