  Duration of ownership: 4 Years

  Strengths: Efficient design. Memory card slots (although most printers now come equiped with this feature. Fairly swift printing for b/w. Decent color prints. Operates without undue levels of noise. Never had a re-curring paper jam problem. The brand of paper used can make a difference, as we discovered at my employer's office, where all of our dozens of printers are HP products.

  Weaknesses:Ink. Ink. Ink and ink. It's costly and like a lot of injet printers, the C4280 runs through it rather quickly,and I don't print much at all. Also, the ink cartridges seem to be really sensitive to warm temperatures. My home office has a southern exposure and the room is always warm, even in the winter with the windows open. I discovered that if I don't use the C4280 a few times a week, the cartridges will malfunction. That's annoying when you just paid 30 bucks for it just 90 days ago.

  Strengths: says it can do a lot

  Weaknesses:This thing jams like crazy. I had my lemon swapped with a new one which proceeded to jam on the very first test page. It seems to jam every 2-3 pages.

  Overall Evaluation: I DO NOT recommend buying this at all. I have been through two of them already. It jams every 2-3 pages- and skips occasionally. I have tried 4 times to print 7-10 page double sided documents and have been unable to get 1 done right. All others have jammed or skipped. I print pretty infrequently which makes my point about the jamming even worse. The install was also horrible adding the 'webprinting' feature which prevents any cutting and pasting from the web impossible. I have talked to tech support from hp probably 3-4 times for this printer alone. It also interfered with Vista and caused an error where it reinstall everytime you plug it in. I don't know if other people had this problem. But my biggest warning is that this thing jams constantly- and I've been through 2. I would NOT recommend this piece to anyone.

  Strengths: Small,easy to use for printing, scanning, and copying. Memory card feature allows you to select specific photos for viewing and printing.

  Weaknesses:None

  Overall Evaluation: Good printer for the budget minded. Fast. Easy to use. Good quality print.Does a good job on envelopes using mail merge. Cartridges easy to change. Attractive addition to the home office.

  Strengths: Color screen, card reader.

  Weaknesses:No USB cable, a bit too noisy.

  Overall Evaluation: Black Friday give away especial! I have never been a big fan of all-in-one products but I was very pleased with the performance of this lower end printer altough not a par with other HP stand alone's. But I can't complain when I got it for free (after rebate) with my HP laptop. It has a nice color screen and built in card reader. It doesn't come with the USB cable which is very common with just about any printer now a days. Overall a good purchase.

  Strengths: Price. Weight. Dimension. Quality

  Weaknesses:Small LCD.

  Overall Evaluation: Generally I like this HP product. It is cheap. Its quality is great for the price. Easy to use. Decent design. Not heavy. Appropriate dimensions, not too big. But the LCD is only 1.5". That's fair: you got what you paid.
