Duration of ownership: 3 Weeks
Strengths: Attractive pricing point, rich colors and deep contrasts, small footprint
Weaknesses:New "slim" projection design prone to geometric defects in the pictures, weak speakers, details in dark scenes are lost
Overall Evaluation: I lost the older model due to theft, so I bought this as a replacement thinking the technology must have gotten better in 1 year. So far, I have been proven wrong. When I first moved from standard def TV to this TV everything was great. But over the last year LCD technology has improved and now DLP projection buyers have to beware what they are sacrificing to save $. The biggest problem I have with this model is the increased problem with geometric warping of the projected picture. This is most noticeable with straight lines (both horizontal and vertical). When I called a SAMSUNG tech, I was told the new slim design was the culprit and the lightweight chassis cannot prevent some units to have this. The older unit had a much milder defect that was tolerable, but this one is too obvious. In addition, SAMSUNG's picture-processing tendency is to accentuate contrast but the problem is that dark scenes lose subtle contrast. If you are looking at this unit, be sure you test-view it in the stores playing videos that contain dark scenes and project straight lines so you won't go home with any surprises. The speakers are weak too but I knew this from the previous unit.If your budget is limited, and you like bright contrasted pictures and are not bothered by DLP rainbows (rare and not bothersome), then this is still a lot of picture for the buck. But if you are particular with how your TV picture looks then take the time to compare all the different technologies/brands and find out what you get if you spend more or you choose to downsize.

Strengths: Excellent Picture. High Def pictures look awesome. Unit is only 11 inches deep.
Weaknesses:none
Overall Evaluation: I read tons of reviews about the sound quality on this tv. We do not have surround sound hooked up to our tv and my husband and myself think the sound is awesome. Excellent TV for the money.

Strengths: Slim design, full 1080p picture, lots of connections
Weaknesses:Speakers
Overall Evaluation: One of the best DLP TVs out. I have been searching for a TV for a couple of months now and decided to go with this as it was on sale! Has awesome 1080p picture. The picture is bright and crisp. Very thin design at only 11.5" deep, so you can fit it in tight spaces unlike other DLPs. Plenty of connections that make hooking up different units very easy (i.e. DVD player, set-top box, gaming console). This also supports PC input so that you can use it as a computer monitor if you'd like! The speakers on this unit could use some improvement. I recommend setting this TV up with a home theater system for better sound. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. For the quality of the picture and the size of the screen, you won't find a better deal.

Strengths: Picture quality, ease of setup
Weaknesses:Channel switching
Overall Evaluation: I am very glad I bought this TV. Setup was a breeze and the connections are on the side which makes connections easy.I have connected HD cable box using component cables and the channel switching from normal to HD is not smooth. It shows a green screen before switching to HD.Other than that, the picture clarity is awesome.I will be connecting my cable box using HDMI soon (the current box does not have HDMI).Certainly a great TV for the price.
