Duration of ownership: 3 Months
Strengths: Same version play as arcade
Weaknesses:Could be reptitive and same game play.
Overall Evaluation: I always believed that the Art of Fighting series were badly underrated. It never really caught on like the Fatal Fury or later the Samurai Shodown series. But it did had its merits nevertheless from the hugh characters to the sprit meter which limits how often you can special moves to the graphic scaling. All 3 games in the series are 100% versions of the arcade ports. Sadly, SNK Playmore didn't bother to do more like tighten up the controls in the 1st. Art of Fighting game (I'm still having problems executing Robert's Lighting Kick, the Haoh Sho Koh Ken & the Ryuko Ranbu). The second game improves on this, but its best to play with another player as it's tough, even on Easy mode. AoF 3 is the best looking of the series. It plays a little like Virtual Fighting (despite the fact that it's still 2-D. SNK planned to make Aof 3 in 3-D. But I guess the Neo Geo couldn't handle 3-D graphics). If you're an old school gamer like myself & like fighting games, this collection is at least worth a rental.

Strengths: great background music and sountrack
Weaknesses:hard difficulty, unresponsive controls
Overall Evaluation: ART OF FIGHTING ANTHOLOGY is a collection of three 2-D fighting games for the PS2. (Art of Fighting (AOF) 1 ? 3) Originally released for the Neo- Geo system in 1992 by SNK , the Art of Fighting series was trying to emulate the success of Street Fighter 2. Unfortunately, if u had to choose between the Street Fighter series and Art of Fighting, Capcoms?s games are the better choice in terms of graphics, controls , and character choices. This collection is really for the more nostalgic or hardcore gamer who yearns for hard difficulty and limited gameplay and controls. This concept is made apparent with both AOF 1 and 2. 1 allows you to only control two characters, Robert or Ryo, and their moveset and abilities are very limited. U have a spirit meter that u can fill up by charging or by taunting, which will allow u to perform special powerful moves. AOF 3 is the best choice out of the three offered, because it has more gameplay options and more attack choices. The graphics for all 3 games are pretty good with the characters appearing gigantic onscreen, easily dwarfing their Capcom counterparts. You also have a choice of playing the original arcade soundtrack or an alternative one that has more music styles to choose from. Unfortunately, this collection is as bare bones as it can be, because there are zero extras or unlockable content being offered here. Overall, there are much better fighting games out there, so only get this one if u are a hardcore fighting fan.

Strengths: Nice set of games, cheap
Weaknesses:Cheap bosses, graphics aged
Overall Evaluation: The Art of Fighting series from SNK is one of the classic fighting series from back on the day. Jumping on the Street Fighter bandwagon, the game featured two main characters very similar to Ken & Ryu, but they eventually grew into their own. This game collection gives you Art of Fightings 1 though 3. The gameplay is similar, although part 1 seems to have aged a lot, and its fairly basic. This was one of the first games to zoom in on the action and featured big sprites.Part two is a little better, but is kind of still the same.Part three changed a lot, with a lot of new characters, and the gameplay AI was kind of cheap. This is a great collection if you're a fan of old school fighting and remember these games fondly. Plus it's cheap. But if you're looking for something new, you might as well look elsewhere.
