    Duration of ownership:

    Strengths: Small, reliable, good sound.

    Weaknesses:None.

Overall Evaluation: Great recorder that functions just as you would expect. It is small and lasts for a long time on few batteries. Having multiple folders is nice. The sound seems pretty decent but of course any small microphone will not have the best sound ever. I haven't tried it with an external microphone, but I assume it would sound better. It takes a while to transfer files to the computer, but that is to be expected when transferring sound files. The ability to transfer to the computer is one of the best features out there.

    Duration of ownership:

Strengths: small, easy to operate, PC integration

Weaknesses:small, easy to operate, PC integration

Overall Evaluation: The unit is the right size and easy to operate right out of the box. It even comes with batteries. The recording quality is very good and has several settings to give you the option of lower quality and longer recording time if you want it. It would have been nice if they included a lanyard with it and also if they made it Mac compatible.

    Duration of ownership: 2 Years

Strengths: Easy to use even in the dark. Good speaker.

    Weaknesses:Cannot download files from PC

Overall Evaluation: I have used the vn-960 for several years. I was thinking this will allow one to download the files from pc. But not so. I am so disappointed. I can see why it wont. Each file on the recorder converted to wav file become quite huge on the pc. Obviously this keeps it internally in a diff format. Not that wav to this devise format is not attainable but mfr chose not to do that.

    Strengths: price, easy-handling, design, record-quality

    Weaknesses:none

Overall Evaluation: Searching for well-priced voice recorder I ended up looking for an Olympus. Regarding the differences between the VN-3100PC and the VN-4100PC... I decided to take the one with longer recording time for a better price. Good choice!

    Duration of ownership: 1 Weeks

Strengths: easy operation and clear voice

Weaknesses:the size and figure, the smaller the better

Overall Evaluation: I would strongly recomend it, considering its quality under its price range. Easy operation in recording and easy transfer files to PC. But personalily I hate AAA battery. I would rather pay a higher price for it with rechargable battery. Its shape is easy to hold, but I perfer a slimer one which can be easily held in my pocket.
