  Duration of ownership: 4 Months

  Strengths: Large LCD and easy to use. Can shoot multiple pictures fast.

  Weaknesses:Camera is quite large. Starting up is just a little slow, but not too bad.

  Overall Evaluation: This is my first Sony as well as my 1st pro-sumer camera. I own a lot of 35mm type of camera and when choosing a digital, I wanted a camera that was equal in handling of a 35mm. The DSC-V3 lives up to Sony's quaility and style. I personal like a full size camera. Make it much easier to hold. I found that with just a little playing around I was able to figure out most of the bells and whistle on my owe. This camera can do alot and the manual will give all the information you need to play around. But for me all I want is a camera that can point and shoot that come out with great pictures. The camera can do that.

  Duration of ownership: 10 Months

  Strengths: This camera is compact enough for a roomy coat pocket,and takes great photos. It does extremely well in daylight scenery photos and night photos on a tripod. Great battery life.

  Weaknesses:LCD needs a clear hard plastic cover, handheld shots w/o flash & tripod blur easily in dim light conditions. Software lacks ammenities like panoramic stitching.

  Overall Evaluation: This is a great all around camera. I've taken about 3000 shots with this camera in 10 months. Sharp 8x10 photos are no problem here, especially on a tripod. I'm impressed about it's ability to handle long shutter night shots, fireworks, and city skylines. Great color and detail rendition. Its only drawbacks are shots w/o a tripod or flash in lower light conditions due to camera shake, and so-so photo management software. In spite of these, I would certainly buy this camera again.

  Strengths: A very responsive camera, with high speed auto-focus and high speed burst mode.Excellent construction.A huge 2"LCD and a HOTSHOE conector for HVL Flashes.I recommend this camera!

  Weaknesses:Some purple fringing,too softy photos often need EV compensation, only 1/1000sec. at manual/A/S modes.Red eyes are a problem by the flash too close lens.Poor raw burst mode(15 sec.)

  Overall Evaluation: I really recommends this camera for anyone who needas an overall camera , but if you want this camera you must pay atention at sotly light scenaries , and sometimes that need's an +0.3/0.7 EV compensation.The viewfinder is quite unnusual , but helps at wide-end position lens.Don't forget to buy an external HVL-1000 or HVL-32FX Flash if you gonna take interior/people photos, cuz the built-in flash is too weak and too close lens, this is really bad for RED EYES.And don't forget to buy the VAD-VHA filter adapter with a protector MC o UV , to protect the lens of this camera , those compact zoom lens have a bothering problem with dust getting drop inside lens , so , take the VAD-VHA adapter with protector/uv filter and keep there all-times, you will never think on take-off those protectors (and this is usefull for all cameras)

  Strengths: Solid black body,excellent picture quality,I like the nightframing and nightshot functions

  Weaknesses:Lens accessory blocks the Hologram assist function,LCD image is soft than F828

  Overall Evaluation: When I first owned the Sony Cybershot V1 I immediately won first place in a local photo contest, with the V3 and its outstanding features I expect to achieve more, thank you very much Sony, V3 is a camera which I shall keep for a very long time.

  Strengths: Excellent video and indoor pictures, dual memory capacity, big LCD screen

  Overall Evaluation: This DSC-V3 beats my old Canon Powershot G3 in video recording and indoor pictures. Ziess lenses are very nice in optics and quality. This camera also has very fast response time. And I would recommend it to anybody else!
