A streamlined interface presents only the elements you need. New Smart Tags buttons pop up to show you your options when you need them, such as when you make an error in an Excel formula or when Word corrects an action. Task Panes give you fast, easy access to important tasks like performing searches, opening or starting a new document, viewing the contents of the clipboard, formatting your documents and presentations, or even accessing translation and template services via the Web. Speech recognition is built right into Office XP, as is the ability to upload handwritten notes from your handheld device. Office Document Imaging functionality lets you scan and incorporate text from multipage printed documents. You can compress pictures, ask questions without having to launch the Answer Wizard or Office Assistant, save documents to a file cabinet on the Internet, digitally sign entire documents, search folders without leaving documents, and much more.

Duration of ownership: 1 Months

Strengths: Used by just about everyone.

Weaknesses:Not much, MS will patch them up.

Overall Evaluation: MS Office is a must for anyone. Very useful tools for students, teachers, businesses, etc. The programs are easy to use. If you don't know how to do something, you can find help within the programs.

Duration of ownership: 2 Weeks

Strengths: Has all of the required office applications (word, excel, powerpoint). Easy install.

Weaknesses:None

Overall Evaluation: This is the best suite to get for home if you don't have the XP operating system. Even if you do have XP this is ok. No problem to install. If you use mail make sure you have the right set up for your ISP. If upgrading from Outlook, export ever thing you want to keep first.
