Strengths: Didn't get that far.
Weaknesses:I just kept getting error message while installing the drivers. Could have been an isolated problem with my computer only, but, I had to give up sometime.
Overall Evaluation: Look, I'm not the smartest guy in the world but not the dunbest either. While loading the software, I can't tell you the barage of error meeages I was getting. (Running Windows XP)I did everything that was requested. Disabled my firewall, anti-virus, spy-ware. Loaded and removed the software about 10 times. One time it actually went problem free until I rebooted. Error. Was going to call Logitech until I saw it wasn't a toll free number. Sent it back. Just wasn't worth it.

Strengths: Good in low light, good in bright light.
Weaknesses:None yet.
Overall Evaluation: I have not owned any web cameras as of yet, I've been waiting for the "right one". This camera was a cinch to install on Vista Business, works great in both Live Messenger and Skype. Picture quality is tops and is noticable by the users on the other end of the call.

Strengths: Nice camera, even without software loaded (because I could not load it) it worked very well with skype, is clear and has goot depth in the room
Weaknesses:software has major problems with vista. I tried to load on two different Vista pc configurations. both failed with the same error code(not in trouble shooter list) very poor rude support from logitec
Overall Evaluation: So to make it work: You have to disable a whole load of start up functions, disable your firewall etc. You do not have to do this with Canon or other similar software which loads fine. Error code not in trouble shooter, support say its an issue with Vista. Sorry no. If you want to sell a product make sure it works with current software in all likely cases. Sofware is clearly too intrusive and wants to collect info ( I guess). So no I would not buy again after several hours of work + having to rewind my vista software load by a few days on each pc.

Duration of ownership:
Strengths: Very sharp focus at close range. Auto or manual focus, amazing macro, digital zoom, pan and tilt (image shift) when zoomed. Color, exposure controls - all via software.
Weaknesses:Near-sighted camera. Cannot focus worth beans beyond 8 or 10 feet.
Overall Evaluation: I purchased this camera solely based on the claims of image sharpness. This is absolutely true for objects closer than perhaps 5 feet - down to 2 inches from the camera. But the camera cannot focus at all on objects farther than 8-10 feet. Too bad they don't mention this in the ads. For most folks who want to use it for personal chat - this is a truly great camera - you'll be very happy with it. That's why I gave it 4 stars. For me it was a disappointment.

Strengths: Video Quality, Cute Video Effects
Weaknesses:Features Sold With Unit Do Not Work/Create Problems, Have To Disconnect/Reconnect To Be Recognized At Times, Can Easily Tip On LCD Screens (No Spring Tension) On Arm
Overall Evaluation: Before I had purchased this webcam I was diligent in researching the product online and in the forums on the Logitech website. Without finding any major issues with it I ordered it and as soon as I received it I installed the software, plugged in the webcam, configured the audio features with the easy to follow Logitech tuning wizard, and rebooted only to find that I had no audio. I reinstalled the Audio drivers and I had audio for a minute moment until I had to reboot to finish installing the drivers. To make a long story short, I posted my issue on the Logitech forum and was given a reply ?Known issues. Please reference the floated "Issues and Solutions" threads for more information. Thanks? and after digging through several pages I find that it has been ?Known? for over a year! So for the AEC ?Acoustic Echo Cancellation? to function: 1. You need to lose audio functionality 2. Use something other than 5.1 audio3. Disable AEC On the same note, I did try using 4.1 audio and it worked for a short while and then lost audio again and ended up having to completely disable ACE. BTY, this issue in XP causes a BSOD. Overall, the video is very good and it has some nice video effects if you have children, but I cannot justify giving any product a good review when a company sells their product with features that they ?know? causes issues or has to be disabled for your system to function properly, which defeats the purpose of the feature you paid for. Remember, Logitech has known about this issue for OVER a year.
